[ 🖤 ] synopsis : alice and reader are on a wintertime valentine's day date, but when reader breaks her arm, she's mortified.

Alice Cullen had officially completely lost it.

Together the two of you decided to take advantage of the cold winters of Forks, head to a secluded area where there was snow galore – still falling form the greyed skies and you brought your sled.

It all kind of went south from there. Alice and yourself were at the tallest part of the hill with the intent to slide down together. She was skeptical about this ordeal at first. But with sly words you’d managed to get her on board at last.

“Okay! I’m ready!”

Alice prepared to push the both of you down the hill. And when she did i t was exciting. However, midway down, the sled caught onto something and you flew forward before she had the chance to catch you—it was the first time in the two years your relationship went on for that she couldn’t catch you. And you landed face first into the cold terrain.

“(Y/N)!” with a whoosh of cool air she was by your side within seconds, cupping your face and wiping it free of the frozen dirt that you’d somehow managed to catch from the snow you landed it. “I must’ve pushed too hard, I’m so sorry!”

“No worries, babe,” you reassured, waving your arm at her dismissively and smiled. “I’m okay, I’m okay.”

You may not have noticed it yet, mainly because the snow and ice were acting as a numbing agent. You’d been out there for so long that you didn’t realize you’d broken your arm—aside from the dull, intense aching. She only mentioned it and your brain immediately started making a run for the alarm.

“That can’t be good.” You mumbled once you noticed it. Your arm was within an odd position. Unnatural. Humans limbs were not supposed to be facing away from you.

It didn’t even seem human or possible. But laying on the ice and snow seemed to lessen the pain. This would change on your way to the hospital.

She tried to lift you, but you hissed and groaned in pain. When you’d managed to get to your feet, you cradled the broken limb. “Oh, oh, oh! Okay, okay! Don’t worry. I’ll bring the car to you.”

You didn’t expect your winter wonderland ‘date’ to go south—you were now bedridden, arm cradled to your chest in a sling during the time of healing – Alice, your girlfriend could see the future, and she wouldn’t consistently tell you when you would heal. You’d hoped it was before Valentine’s Day.

Speaking of, your beautiful girlfriends sauntered in with worry as you watched her from the couch. It bothered you to see her so worried about you. “You know, you’ve scared me out there – the minute I saw you land face first into the snow, only to be buried by more; ugh, (Y/N) you could’ve—!”

“But I didn’t,” you interjected, accepting the tea offered to you by hand and hissed a little at the stinging sensation of the hot porcelain. You reached forward and patted her solid cheek, smiling cheekily. “I’m human, it happens when most of us break bones sometimes.”

After a moment's silence, you flicked on Netflix. And sifted through the different flicks that you could watch together. “Isn’t fashion flicks or television your thing? Let’s watch it together to get this whole thing off your mind.”

The once perky vampire’s topaz eyes looked you over, this time with hope pooling within them, before pursing her thin lips. She didn’t realize how much she’d worried herself to ‘death’ until you pointed it out to her. Your health meant everything to her.

“I’m sorry, I—I just,” she sighed, hands falling to her waist as she took a seat beside you. “I worry too much because you’re not like me. And I just want to protect you.”

You were nonchalant with her worry, it was her way of showing you that she loved you. And you wholeheartedly accepted it as your 'fate'. “I want to protect you too, Alice—but honey, I can’t protect you when you’re stealing all of the worry for yourself.”

Alice managed a first smile throughout the entire day through your jest. Somehow, you’d managed to make her day bearable with your arm inevitably broken. But by your humor she’d managed to release the guilt she withheld for herself and you. For once.

-so when you came to him excited to paint his nails, he didn’t even think of saying no 

-he very much enjoys and values that quiet time you get together when you paint his nails 

-it’s usually filled with quiet conversations and light music coming from somewhere in the house 

-the ambiance of sitting quietly with carlisle is very peaceful and comfortable

-when you ask him to paint yours, he does surprisingly well 

-he has very steady hands, so no need to worry about him messing up 

-he doesn’t care about the color, he just cares that you’re the one doing it 

Emmett

-when this king is in love, he’s an absolute simp 

-he never refuses any of your stupid antics 

-for being so masculine and strong, you thought he wouldn’t like the idea of painted nails but he welcomed it with open arms 

-he actually is the one to paint your nails after you paint his (without even being asked, when his are dry he excitedly grabs the bottle and one of your hands saying “your turn!! :D”) 

-he’s not very good at it, but you both enjoy it

-he prefers darker colors like black or blue but loves whatever you do to him 

-he will proudly flaunt his nails and if anyone says anything negative, he will stand up to them and offer to kick their ass 

-if they ever chip while he’s hunting or something, he will run to you asking to fix them

-you think it’s really sweet how much he loves them and how much you both have fun painting your nails together

-he has painted nails the most often

Jasper

-he needs some convincing but when you start painting he honestly could care less 

-it’s not that he loves it or hates it, he prefers the actual painting process because he gets to be close to you 

-i mean you literally have to hold his hands to paint his nails, so of course, you’re close

-he also is completely weak for you

-anything you ask, ye shall receive 

-including this old cowboy wearing some nice nail polish

-but damn does he look good, you think he somehow looks hotter than normal 

-and you’re not shy to voice that 

-he loves your attention and praise, so he’s very willing to let you paint his nails again in the future

-he doesn’t really like to paint your nails because he doesn’t like to mess up. But will do it if you asked him to

-the second most likely one to wear your nail polish 

-he likes black polish the most

Edward

-the most reluctant out of the bunch 

-it took him a lot of convincing but when he saw how happy it made you, there’s no way he could refuse 

-he doesn’t love it, he’s very old fashioned and doesn’t really enjoy such feminine things

-but he likes being close and having a quiet intimate moment 

-the only part he likes about it is seeing your focused face and feeling your hand hold his

-he enjoys hearing the random little thoughts you have while focusing

-he doesn’t like the time it takes for his nails to dry, so when you’re not looking he’ll shake his hands around at vampire speed to dry them

-also he doesn’t hate the compliments you give him, especially how nice hinds hands look when he’s playing piano
