just throwing this out there
You know your game show is deranged when...
what is this genre of photos called
"That's NOT For You!"
this trend of shitting on peer-reviewed academic studies in favor of tweeting “we already knew this was happening” is so soul-crushing. not to be an elitist cunt, but we have got to open the schools again. people genuinely seem to have forgotten that their personal lived experience isn’t indicative of the larger population, AND IF IT IS…… then you need researchers to support these assertions from a relevant data pool instead of a blog post from 2013 💀
Personal experience does not equal universal truth. You cannot find truth solely on your own. We must, by necessity, account for and include the observations and experiences of others to determine the truth of reality around us.
And yet, even a group's accumulated personal experiences can still lead to the wrong conclusion. So how do we trust our own knowledge about the world? By constantly questioning it. By constantly testing it. And by looking to learn from experiences and information created by groups that dedicate their time and effort to learning more about a specific subject. Be critical of your own knowledge just as much, if not more, than you are critical of other's knowledge. Do not be certain you know what is true. For once you are certain, you will be blinded to anything else. But then, how do we operate in a world where we cannot be certain of anything? How do we act or know what to think? I cannot say for certain, but I have found some helpfulness in Cautious Confidence. To believe and act as if something is true, while always being aware that you might be wrong and being willing to test/build your search for 'truth' with new ideas.

AAAAAAA
Grasses in the wind.
green wheat field with cypress tree, vincent van gogh
In the summer of 1982, artist Agnes Denes planted and harvested 2 acres of wheat just two blocks from Wall Street, near the twin World Trade Center towers and facing the Statue of Liberty.
Growing wheat on land valued at $4.5 billion was a symbolic act. Her project, 'Wheatfield,' raised questions about food justice, commerce, world trade, economics, land misuse, colonization, food and energy waste, world hunger, and ecology.
some more photos from it, featuring Agnes Denes standing in the field, plus a wider shot of the statue of liberty in the background
a few more images including a bird’s eye view and a write up about it on her website
