when i was a kid i got a 90% on my kindergarten "what are your favorite things?" test because for the question "what is your favorite animal?" i wrote down "puma" and it got marked wrong because my teacher said a puma isnt even an animal its a kind of shoe

when i was in third grade we were studying fractions on the floor and i went up to solve a fraction at the board and after i solved it my teacher was like "HOW COULD YOU EVER DO THAT. GO SIT AT YOUR DESK." and i was like. what did i do. i didnt do anything. and she was like "YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID." so i had to go sit at my desk with my head down for an hour straight because she made me stay in for recess too. i asked her what she thought i did the next day and she was like what? i dont remember making you do that

in my senior year government class my history teacher was asking on what basis is the united states government legally allowed to discriminate. and i raised my hand and said the united states government discriminates in law based on sex. and my teacher laughed and he said "isnt that such a classic teenage boy thing. always thinking about sex." and then he was like "the united states government discriminates based on gender." the textbook we were reading from used the term sex.

Shoutout to that one teacher that caught me doodling in class and thought he was going to embarrass and make an example of me. He very slowly made his way to my desk and then asked me what he had just been teaching about. I repeated the last several minutes word for word. Needless to say, he left me alone after that.

Shout out to all my high school teachers who consistently told me not to leave things to last minute because it will result in poorer homework and poorer marks, but gave me great marks on all my last minute assignments. Little did we all know i had undiagnosed adhd and need the cortisol of a too-close due date to get the work done at all.

Please send an ambulance, I've collapsed. Yes, I'm a puddle now. No, I don't think there's a cure. Completely feral, I'm afraid.

There's so much awful shit going on in the world right now. Do what you can when you can. It can help more than you think and can alleviate that feeling of helplessness a little, too.

I'm sorry, but same. Because if someone said they were gonna kill one of my nieces or nephews for the slight possibility that they could save what's left of humanity (a fair portion of which are psychos, cultists, cannibals, and militant tyrants), then no. Not happening. And I would 100% kill every person who tries to get between me and any of my kids without hesitation to save their life. Like, run at me with the greater good bullshit because it's not a greater good when it requires sacrificing children.
