so after an anon asked me about it in my inbox (idek if they'd want this or not lmao), i've decided to go ahead and coin my own term & flag!! it's for mspec (especially bisexuals) who prefer to be exclusively sapph4sapph, reclaiming "febfem" from terfs. i'm calling it "camellian", and i'll explain why below. reblogs appreciated, and it's f2u!!
pink flowers are a symbol of love, and the color is very closely related to and associated with purple, the color of violets. but i didn't want to base the term on the famous sapphic flower, as it's likely that's been done multiple times before already. camellias in particular are seen as a way to tell someone you miss them, which i personally vaguely tie to the sorrowful idea that febfem was in theory a decent idea, but it was made in bad faith and is used in bad faith. i'm not sure if you noticed, but the flag's scheme subtly reflects both the sapphic and bi colors together - that was intentional. :)
i predict not everyone will agree with my idea to coin this, but i don't see anything wrong with sapph4sapph just because we're not lesbians. i simply consider it an extension of the preference system bisexuals have. some, like me, may only prefer to date girls. you do not have to associate yourself as reclamations of febfems either, or have anything to do with them. i would rather camellian be seen as its own unique identity label. you also do not have to use it just because it may apply to you.
i would also like it to be known as an extra note that sapphilleans who wish to be included, are. if you consider yourself such but only want to be in sapphic relationships, that's valid!! it does not erase your attraction to men and/or achillian identity if you do not want it to.
twitter thread version
i'm going to add here that you may narrow down the selection even further if you want, such as being an exclusively bi4bi camellian, bi4pan, bi4les, etc. or even for all/multiple preferences. i do not see myself making sub-category flags for these, but if anyone feels inspired then i don't mind if it being done without my input as long as you link back to here or credit me in some form.
by the way, here are the flower .pngs on their own:
