A few years on T: so my uterus has atrophied, orgasming causes debilitating pain, I have a drastically elevated risk of heart disease, stroke and cancer, and we have no idea what this will do in fifty years!

Think long-term — we have no idea how long-term exogenous testosterone affects the female endocrine and reproductive systems… but I guess we’re going to find out!

The risk of heart disease & stroke is only increased to the same levels as cis men, who do have an increased risk over cis women - and this is only theoretical.

The increased risk of cancer was only theoretical (based on research of cis women with PCOS), and they’re no longer sure about that. However, trans people are at greater risk of things like ovarian cancer because we’re less likely to get ourselves screened due to dysphoria etc.

Any trans person on HRT goes into this with the understanding that it will make us sterile - scaring us about the long-term effects on our reproductive system makes no sense.

after the death of her children, researchers were determined to have Washoe raise a baby and brought in a ten month chimpanzee named Loulis. one of the caretakers went to Washoe’s enclosure and signed “i have a baby for you.” Washoe became incredibly excited, yelling and swaying from side to side, signing “baby” over and over again. then she signed “my baby.”

the caretaker came back with Loulis, and Washoe’s excitement disappeared entirely. she refused to pick Loulis up, instead signing “baby” apathetically; it was clear that the baby she thought she was getting was going to be Sequoyah. eventually Washoe did approach Loulis, and by the next day the two had bonded and from then on she was utterly devoted to him.

Ariana Grande headlining Manchester pride isn’t the best, but shes an ally and a big name so idk what is “so terrible” about that part. It’s a bummer they didn’t use Years and Years, honestly, but it’s not the worst part of the whole ordeal.

The REAL PROBLEM is the fact that the event is 18+ and the tickets are 60 QUID.

Pride isn’t suppost to be a commercial event. It’s supposed to be a celebration of sexual/romantic/gender identity and the freedom to love whoever the hell you want, not an excuse to sell tickets to vulnerable minorities who are so deprived of representation, the organisers have easily found a way to exploit us.
