Hey y’all! I hate to have to do this, but I need help!

I currently live in Alaska, where there is zero work, and where living and the legislation against trans women is getting scarier and more unsafe.

I have a move coming at the end of the year, and I’ve been doordashing to be able to eat, and need funds to feed myself, as well as packing supplies, as most of my belongings will have to be mailed down because we cannot afford movers.

Many point-of-sale machines now are essentially just a smartphone with a card reader attached and the interface. The control layout can change at a moment's notice and there are no physical boundaries between buttons. With a keypad-style machine, the buttons are always in the same place and can be located by touch, especially since the middle button has a raised ridge on it.

Buttons can also be located by touch without activating them, which enables a "locate then press" style of interaction which is not possible on touchscreens, where even light touches will register as presses and the buttons must be located visually rather than by touch.

When elevator or door controls are replaced by touch screens, will existing accessibility features be preserved, or will some people no longer be able to use those controls?

I am deep in it again. As soon as I pay off some prescriptions, more update and I am back in debt to pay them off before the next round. On top of that, my car insurance is due next week. Meanwhile, I am still out of work and cant even set up my unemployment benefits while I job hunt so I am bringing nothing in and relying entirely on what support I can edge out. If there is anything you can offer to help, I would be beyond appreciative because I am barely hanging on financially as it is right now

i am in the process of putting together a plan to rescue my siblings Purgatory system from a unfathomably abusive family/home. (for a clue into how bad: its legal mother is not allowed to have her own key to their house or drive a car. theres surveillance around the perimeter of their house) i am setting a general goal of $2,000 which will go towards registering and inspecting the van i will be trading my car out for, storage unit to put my things in during the trade, cost of going across the country to get it and/or a plane ticket for it to fly here, and anything leftover will go towards food, bedding, and other essentials. please please help me get it out of this hell. no one deserves to live in a cage where it is scrutinized, abused, and neglected in filth

I won't be putting my plan into motion until around mid September(whenever the weather cools off enough here for me to be doing physical labor without getting heatsick and further disabling myself or dying)

Please Help. I want us to have a life worth living my car barely fits me let alone someone else who is also disabled. Just last night it told me it wants to kill itself because it cant see a way out.

hi, everyone. the situation at home has gotten progressively worse, with my father turning physically abusive and breaking my nose a few weeks ago.
