you know what i love about Lena?
she has so much hope. one of her first lines in the show is, "I hope this isn't the last time we talk."
and the first time she asks Kara to attend an event she says, "I was hoping you'd come... It would mean a lot to me if you were there."
and later in the same episode, she says to Supergirl, "who would have believed it, a Luthor and a Super working together. I hope we can work together more in the future."
and when Kara is trying to get info about Lillian, insisting that she must be proud of Lena, Lena says, "I would hope so."
and all of this is just in the first 8 episodes of season 2. Lena, despite her life, has so much hope in herself that it lives in the very words she uses in casual conversations. It radiates from her. She even names her AI Hope.
she's always, "How can I help?" "Whatever you need." "Of course I will help you."
so how could Kara, a person whose entire life is built on Hope, Help, and Compassion for all not love Lena Luthor, who shares each of those values so strongly, even in the times she's misguided or tries to hide it
How could Kara ever see Lena as anything less than good when everything Kara loves about humanity shines from Lena like the sun
