aalis-volkovaâ:
Aalis decided to take advantage of Inny working on a project at a friends to venture to the local bakery for a coffee and cake all on her own. She would be able to take her time, read a magazine let time pass before heading to pick up her daughter later. When she heard the voice, her eyes moved up and she closed her magazine before nodding, âPlease, take a seat!â She gave her a big smile in return before adding, âWould you like a piece of my cake? Itâs so tasty but the slice is huge!â
Maybe Bex wasnât used to people being so openly friendly but the cheerful disposition of the other woman surprised her. It wasnât by any means a bad thing, but maybe being surrounded by men in a biker gang had messed with her perspective on the term friendly. â Yeah? Cool thank youâ Bex replied with a smile as she took a seat. She took a sip of her coffee before looking at the cake a moment. â What kind is it?â She asked unsure about how she was gonna answer.
notleftaliveâ:
So it appeared that Joseph Attali, dead kid walking, was stood up.
Thanks a lot! One would think that the people in this town, being some mixture of witches and werewolves and all that, would have no hang-ups about a dead guy getting a date, but apparently he was wrong. Joseph came this way to a place that served something useless to him, only for this girl, herself a young fae, to ghost him without explanation.
âNot anymore,â he huffed. In front of him was a half-bitten pastry on a plate, and to its side was a crumpled napkin that hid whatever Joseph had spat out. Self-consciously, he tossed the napkin of chewed food into a nearby trash can.Â
âDonât worry about time,â he said, forcing himself to lighten up. Something about her seemed sweet, and in any case, he detected from her a surface-level thought about hoping for some sweetness from this town. âIâm not in any rush.â A passing thought told him that he found her quite pretty, and he let it slide, waiting for some response from her.
Bex looked at him a moment just to make sure if it was okay. People had a tendency to say things were fine when they werenât and she wasnât the type to push her way through. It was a good thing she could read people enough to see it genuinely was fine. The shapeshifter took the free seat and sat down. She wanted to do some work but first she wanted to be thankful for the offer. â Thanks again. I didnât expect it to be so busy in here today. â She explained taking a sip of her drink. â Okay cool, cause last thing I wanna do is push someone out of their seat. Iâm Bex by the wayâ

ANYA TAYLOR-JOY for ELLE Slovenia PHOTOGRAPHY: RACHELL SMITH
Location: The Sweet Spot Date: May 9, 2021 Time: 6 PM
While Bex knew the apartment would have been vacated since Silas was working tonight, she still wasnât sure if she wanted to be cooped up in their home. It seemed like a waste of a perfectly hospitable town that was a far cry from her childhood residence of being in the desert in a biker gang. She walked into the spot and looked around seeing if there was an empty spot but didnât seem like there was a free table at the moment. She hoped the town was as friendly today as she always always claimed it to be. â Is this spot taken? I swear I wont be here too longâ She smiled gesturing to the empty chair at the tableÂ

Silas laughed and put the hose back. âIâve known you too long to be afraid of you, bear or not.â He threw a devilish grin towards her, eyes glinting. âYou were scarier when you were in diapers.â He wasnât kidding either; babies were completely foreign to Silas, like a different species and definitely not a safe one at that. They pooped, they peed, they peed on you, they spat food out, they bit, and you werenât supposed to do anything to retaliate. That being said, he had no doubt that she actually would do something to get him back now. It just wasnât as scary as facing an infant.
âOh come on, I can be utterly terrifying stillâ Bex replied raising a brow. She had a soft center and a didnât want to appear like the people she was raised by, but that didnât mean she couldn't turn on the intimidation. She just couldnât do it around Silas. He was her family more than the people who shared her blood . There was no way she could ever rattle him. â I remember. You were shaking in your boots when I followed you around. I miss those daysâ She smirked as she finished tying the bag from the trash can

Closing time was typically quiet, empty, boring. Working with Bex made it slightly less boring, though to truly be entertained he had to do something actively. But when you were as old as he was, you learn to make your own fun or you learn to be okay with the silence.
Silas watched her as she came to get the trash behind the bar and lifted the hose at the sink, spraying her with a blast of water as his jaw dropped in mock innocence. âOops. That was so- Such an accident,â he said, even as he shot her again and laughter filled the bar.
Bex should have known better and suspected Silas to pull this on her, but the shifter had assumed wrong as soon as the water hit her. â Seriously?â She replied dropping the trash bag onto the floor. While others had the habit of seeing the darker side of Silas, the side many would deem scary, this was not the Silas she knew. Bex knew the one standing in front of her trying to start some shit that made her happy she always saw him as a brother figure and not an enemy. â You are such a dick. Only a fool would spray a bear in the face, knowing she doesnât have a weapon to fire backâ Bex replied looking around for something to get him back
rickistaffordâ:
Sheâd been taught at a young age to kill, and it had usually been supernatural groups that she had been infiltrating, so she was certainly seeing the faces of them now. Granted thanks to the training from her father and Forest, she knew how to compartmentalize. So now Ricki looked after the voice in the chaos, her eyes focusing on the girl she had helped with the drunk outside of CHURCH. âHey, youâre looking for a little girl?â She moved forward quickly, her teacher brain coming to take hold along with the operative brain. It wasnât common for both sides to activate at once but this was different. âLet me help you find her. How old and whatâs her name? I might even teach her.â
Bex had been so focused keeping her eyes on the groups of people running around that she hadnât realized someone had answered her question. â Wh- Yes. Yes I am. Sorry I was trying to keep my eyes open for her. She let go of my hand when all of this happened. I need to find her. â Bex explained running a hand through her hair. â Her names Annie. Sheâs got sort of strawberry blonde hair and is six. She is about up to hereâ She explained gesturing to the little girls height. âAny help would be appreciatedâ
Date: January 1, 2021 Location: Winter Festival
It was late into the night by the time Bex had noticed just what was happening. The shapeshifter had almost been in a bubble when it came to what was happening in town. That came crashing down however, when the mother of one of the kids she watched had ran up to her asking for her help finding their child who got separated in the panic. There was no way Bex would ever say no to something so serious and began her search, desperately trying to avoid any phantom figures that seemed familiar to her. It wasnât hard to mess with the daughter of a gang leader who had gotten rid of a lot of people as part of his line of work. You just had to be a spirit and sadly there were so many in the area trying to gt a rise out of Bex. However, she tried to put it all aside as she looked for the child who had wandered off out of fear. âThis is insane. Get away from me m.â Bex muttered pulling away from another not so friendly face and trying to keep focused as she continued he search. â Hey did you see a little girl wander this way?âÂ

riley-vossâ:
âThanks. And itâs lovely to meet you, Bex,â she agrees as she shakes the other womanâs hand. âHm yes, thatâs right. I saw the big hulky man at the door,â she remarks with a tilt of her head towards the door, where the bouncer was earlier that night. âItâs nice it isnât always your responsibility. I feel like lately people have really been going off the deep end. Not that I can blame all of them, what with the arsonist still running aroundâŚâ Riley takes her drink, sipping on it as she looks around the bar. âA lot of people are worried their shop could be the next to burn downâŚdonât know if restaurants or bars are off limits either, are you guys protected from that sort of thing?â Then again when magic is involved, could they really be protected from the fires? Most shops hadnât been, even with wards up. âI have a shop a little ways away from here. We tried to put as much security up as possible, though I donât know if thatâll stop a fire,â Riley grimaces, sipping her drink.
â I guess he can come off a little hulky. Itâs probably the attitude heâs got. Iâve seen a lot of guys walk around like that in the pastâ She chuckled. â Heâs probably a marshmallow underneath it allâ She added going back to her closing routine. â I missed a lot of that chaos. I came after October, but Iâve been filled in a bit. I feel bad that this happened to everyone and lets be real I donât feel like putting out a fire either, so I hope it skips us around hereâ Bex admitted before glancing back. â I think so. At least I hope so. This place is caught up on the codes so we should be okay in case of emergency. â She assumed, but didnât want to speak in a way that meant she would jinx herself. â What shop?â
emira-birsenâ:
Emira pondered for a moment on the right response. Lethe was a wildcard town and almost filled with surprises, some of which she had contributed to. âThe latter.â she admitted truthfully. âNot everything is sunshine and rainbows dear. Word of advice? Expect the unexpected. Besides, itâs a town filled with supernatural beingsâyoung, old, immortals. What did you expect? A kumbaya from all walks of life? Ha!â She laughed as she downed her drink in one go and left the empty blood stained glass on a tray when the server passed by. âA gang of bikers? Sounds like fun times.â Pure sarcasm there. She was well aware of such groups, but just like most residents of Lethe, it seems like the young woman had an unconventional upbringing. âOh with the size of this place? More than enough. I may not have lived here long, but you tend to pick up on the anomalies that a town technically shouldnât have. Regardless, enjoy your stay. Your understanding of it all could be different than mine anyways.â
Bex couldnât help raising her eyebrow at the other womanâs comment. She was surprised that the comment came out of her in such a way, but she grew up in a tough world. Even those trying to be negative in her life seemed to not rattle the girl who had seem a lot in her past. She just rolled with it like she usually did â I never said it was. Implications can be a nightmare though. â Bex replied before taking a sip from her drink. Everything was a positive difference from where she had been and if it hadnât been for her roommate Silas she would have never got out. â Itâs a livingâ Bex shrugged. She could tell there was an attitude coming her way, so she tried to keep her answers short and vague. She had been part of a gang war, lost her brother and was living now with the one member everyone had seemed afraid of at times. She was ready for some normal. â People without memories and an arsonist. I think Iâve caught on to some of it so far. Still, sounds like a nice escape from it allâÂ
