My favorite stock artists on deviantArt, for my own reference, but also in case anyone wants some pretty sweet stock images (though most of these people are fairly well-known).

ahrum-stock has the most insane poses. Seriously HQ dude.

mjranum-stock has an incredible range of poses, costumes, models, lighting, and angles. Also verrryyyy HQ.

senshistock has so many stock photos available it blows my mind. Not many different setups, but she always has unique poses and props.

fairiegoodmother I just think the female model is really pretty.

yellow-stock more pretty ladies, I’m sensing a pattern.

felixdeon this dude has some of the weirdest gay fetish stock ever (that’s not true) but he also has an extensive gallery of male nude stock photos which is pretty hard to come by (heh heh come by).

Probably will add to this later as I rediscover photos. Enjoy if anyone is so inclined.

sure!! this is quick and i dont have much of a method so?

i kinda start out with a box shape for the palm and make some tic marks to plan out where the fingers go

then box out some fingers

and darken out the details!

here’s some more examples too!! i always like to exaggerate the position of the thumb and pinky to make the pose of the hand more interesting?? give it more character? it’s a hand

the software is similar to emote/emofuri, a little more complicated though, with modeling, texture maps and set up is different, but at least it’s in English! with an extensive how to manual and dozens of sample models to play around with

hey, everyone! just finished the cover art for the first issue of an art/aesthetic zine, that will be distributed online and through san francisco and the bay area, nouveau. 

the deal with this zine is that anybody, any artist, who wants to submit their work and have it published in the zine, can drop it in my submit box for now (we’re working on the blog for the zine itself), or email it to me (i’m not going to publish my email so just message me privately and you shall receive), and have it spread around the internet and, of course, san francisco. 

think of it as a little roaming catalogue to spread your work (you can submit contact info and a bio), and with each new issue featuring new work and artists to take in

the artwork can be anything; photography, sculpture (well, photography thereof), paintings, digital artwork of any kind, writing (one page), doodles, anything.

10 artists will be selected per issue, and we’ve already received two submissions, so if you want to take part in this first issue, please submit, and contact me! if you don’t want to be part of the first issue, but want to be printed in the next ones, same deal! if you need clarifications, ask away!

even if you aren’t interested in submitting your artwork, please spread this around! this is a really exciting project and we can’t wait to see it come to fruition.
