I like to think after everything that happened to randy he just becomes worse, fully incapable of making choices, afraid to go outside, can’t talk to people or maintain relationships and he dies in a mundane way, leaving benson the only ‘interesting’ or notable thing about him. when they mourn him they just talk about what benson did to him, and they remember his name but they have trouble recalling randy’s, meaning that even after death the only person who saw him was benson and neither of them could escape what happened to them
