For further context; in this AU, Jack had come into the school (alongside Quint and Dirk) only to look for surprise since he doesn't exit the treehouse often. There, he unintentionally finds June Del Toro, who was barely surviving by herself, her main weapon being a hockey stick with some stationery utensils taped onto it (see this post for illustration). June, in this universe, has a huge crush on Jack and made an assumption that he and his friends were there to save HER, unbeknownst to his original intention(s). Jack does not know her all too well, but decides to go along with her assumption to not break her completely.
