[Expensive, well-made Quidditch gloves and two leather bound books on Quidditch strategies were waiting for Edgar on the edge of his bed, with a note in neat script.]
Edgar,
Thought you might want these.
Yours -Grace
Edgar wasn't expecting presents, and so the small array of items on his bed caught him unprepared. He picked up the gloves first, immediately loving the rich texture of the leather. These were good. These were so good. Next came the books, both of which he would be devouring in a few hours. Impressive. He wondered for a moment who his benefactor might be, before finally spotting the note. His lips curled into a smile as he read it. Grace. Of course. Funnily enough, he'd just returned from the owlery, where her gift had been delivered. Time to pay her a visit, then.
He left the Hufflepuff Common Room at an easy jog, which he kept up all the way to Ravenclaw tower. Fortunately another student had just answered the riddle as he got there, and he was allowed (not without a weird look or two) inside. Getting into the female dorms would be the more difficult part, but just then another Eagle appeared, clearly on her way up there. Using his most winsome smile, Edgar managed to convince her to get Grace, and now there was only waiting.
He looked round briefly, but found it inappropriate to sit down, and so he remained by the stairs to the girls' dormitory, box in hand and a sheepish smile on his lips.
