Warbrobe Closet Organizing :: We worked with our clients to declutter and organize their wardrobe closet, which had previously been challenging to navigate through. They made healthy decisions to let go of years of clothing and shoes that were never wore and took up valuable space. We repurposed existing suit hangers, and brought in open-ended pant hangers. Felt bins were also used to contain folded clothing, scarves, swimwear, clutches, and ball caps that otherwise would have looked messy and toppled on one another on the shelves. Pantry Organizing :: Our clients moved into their new home and never had a pantry so big. They called Bella Organizing to set up a system by which food and snacks are categorized, easy to find, and to make room for bulk purchases since the kids are growing and require more fuel. We used a combination of organizing supplies they already had and new natural material bins we brought in. :: Storage Room Organizing :: Today we organized a storage room filled with linens, kids toys, memorabilia, camping gear, and cleaning supplies. Very little was gotten rid of; there doesn't always have to be a downsizing goal. The Process: For space and time-management purposes, we pulled things out of the room to an adjacent outside deck one section at a time. We don't like to leave a mess at the end of a day for you to deal with, especially when it may be a multi-day project. This is the part where many people - including inexperienced organizers - can get stuck by making the mistake of pulling too much out at once. There may not be enough time, resources, space, nor energy to get things done in a single day, so plan to work one area at a time as you go. We don't truly know what we are getting into until we start digging in! The client was busy Zooming work so couldn't participate in decision-making on anything to discard, so the Bella Team focused on cleaning and organization. We dusted and vacuumed cobwebs top to bottom, the window & sill, wiped down shelves and bins, and used leftover carpet tiles we found stored to replace the old rug. We brought lots of extra bins we knew would be needed to maximize space on those shelves, organized like items into place, cleaned up cords and wires, and labeled everything. It took a 2-person team 8.5 hours to thoroughly sort, deep clean, organize, and label this storage space. :: Battery Storage :: Whether it's a small craft or hardware bin with lots of small compartments or a fancy case specially made for them that comes with a tester, a battery storage organizer is a simple & easy way to get organized with your batteries and feel super cool when your friends come over and ooh ahh over it. First photo: I re-purposed a small hardware parts container to store my batteries, which works for me because I only ever use AA, AAA, and have a couple of 9V's ready for those pesky middle of the night beeps from a dying smoke alarm battery. I am impressed by today's moving box label method! Our customer designed and we are implementing it. We have moved her a couple of times within the East Bay and now she's heading eastbound for New York. While she is out celebrating her birthday we are packing and prepping over the next couple of days for her long-distance voyage. There is a lot to do when you move homes, and I appreciate how our customers keep calling on us when it's time for them to get up and go and they want to ensure an organized move. The contents of well-packed boxes (especially fragile, breakable items such as dishware and decor) shouldn't jingle or move around in the box; there should be enough padding around and between them to keep things cusioned in place. When I see these white mesh drawer systems in people’s homes I can't stop myself from wanting to move them to the garage, craft or storage room.
