Day 2 of watching my media consumption and it is interesting to say that it is very different compared to day 1. Day 1 was a lot of different types of media whereas, day 2 was mainly music on the cell phone and minimal other types of media. Due to the poor weather and since I still haven't fully unpacked from moving, I took it upon myself to concur my craft/studying/guest room all while listening to all different genres of music.
It is interesting to see that I use my phone a lot for different things that back when I was young (a child, as I am only 27 and technology has constantly evolved as I grew) I would use separately. I find that media convergence is my go to! My phone has everything I need at my finger tips and it is interesting to see that even I have evolved in the technology world, just like everyone else my age.
As I keep track of my media consumption I am hoping to find a deeper meaning to myself to find if I use my phone too much for fun or if I actually use it as a tool and not be so glued to it or stick my face in it as much.
Day 2 was definitely more of a "I need something in the background to motivate me" rather than to entertain me for the day and I like that as a media audience member. I got to remember old songs and jam out to them or listen to some of the new stuff that is topping the charts. Other than using my phone for music and journaling, I really didn't use any type of media. I did laundry, cooked dinner, did the dishes then went to bed.
