ok so I’m not really sure if this post is going to make sense but I’ve been thinking about this re: the diddy case which went viral a bit ago. If you don’t know what it is, basically diddy is a rapper who has charges of sexual assault, rape; all the things you would expect. it becoming a meme instead of people actually offering sympathy for the women who suffered is a whole other thing, but right now I want to focus on Beyoncé. when the whole thing blew up, people started searching for connections to any other celebrity, and they found that her husband (jay z) was connected to diddy, as was Beyoncé. suddenly, the internet isn’t even focusing on diddy anymore, and is instead obsessed with these baseless claims of Beyoncé killing people with diddy. People seriously believed that. They also made up things like Beyoncé would threaten people, people were scared they would die if she didn’t win an award etc. Suddenly this was all they wanted to talk about…some crazy theories they made up about a woman who’s barely connected to the case instead of the actual man who’s proven to be an abuser. Point is, I find it very interesting that the woman becomes the focus and the evil one, that everyone is so quick to believe the crazy shit they make up about her, and so quick to try to use it to discredit her accomplishments. Very interesting.

ouu yes you're so right. it was so weird to see how at the beginning, everyone was cracking jokes abt diddy and the horrible things he did at his mansion. then, when Beyonce was said to be involved with him and his gang rapes (not even confirmed or anything it was just a speculation), suddenly everyone wanted justice for those victims. suddenly everyone wanted her to be arrested for her "crimes" even though she wasn't confirmed to have done ANYTHING. suddenly everyone felt bad for "her" victims even though they had been just making jokes abt the rapes that had happened at the mansion. it's still crazy to see the difference between their comment sections. while men crack jokes abt baby oil or free diddy in his comments, she's getting comments calling her a child abuser and hating on her for "what's she's done". lol.
