“The honey gatherers put their lives in danger to collect this mangrove honey. Every year, people die while venturing into the deep jungle to collect honey, according to residents. As a result, Sundarban honey is also known as ‘Blood Honey.’” - Bonphool
You never believed the chant to be true.
And you were curious enough to do it.
How the news portrayed the phenomenon was the obscure story that was the Candyman Killer. Seven kills, all with a slash of his alleged hook lodged in his skin, foreign.
Your college roommate warned you about the legend and you didn’t believe it. No way that an incident that happened so long ago was arisen to haunt those who wronged him.
One day you took the chance in a public restroom after classes, seeing that many were talking about it being a mystery. You managed to drag someone from your Philosophy class along to catch it in action. Poor guy‘s legs buckled, shaking that you could’ve sworn he would’ve shit his pants there. Pants sagged so low that someone would’ve saw it.
“Shit man…I’on think this a good idea.” The guy tensed, rubbing his hands against his braids as he eyes the one of blue men stalls behind you. Dual brown skin stood out from the fluorescent light with your eyes boring into the mirror.
You found yourself eyeing certain features in the mirror, a touch of your face. Narrow. Soft. Barely any facial hair even after you followed through with what the dealer gave you instruction on. Inject 0.5 milliliters it into your thigh every week. It’s been two years and you still haven’t seen any facial hair.
But you quickly took precedence over what was going on in the moment. You called bullshit on Candyman’s existence. How in the hell is a dead person able to kill in the present?
You chanted slowly, making sure that it was heard.
The guy immediately started to regret it, unable to look away as you saw his eyes look into yours in the mirror.
You heard a stall slam behind you.
Turns out it was the same guy hiding.
“Keep going with that shit…I ain’t a part of it.”
With the sound of someone flushing and getting out the stall left of him, an older white man that walked up to the sink to wash his hands.
But that’s when you finished it off with another, “Candyman.” after a few moments of having to hype yourself up.
Damming enough that the older guy was walking towards the door at a slow pace.
And right when he touched the handle, the room went dark. The only light source being the hall.
He jiggled the door handle. Once, twice. Doesn’t let up. Sensing his presence towards you again. Air hot, bodily heat known as a detector for human life.
Cold, however, returned. How it came instantly was a feat in itself.
The smell of honey flooded the restroom and the lights came on. Dimmer, the mild sound of bees filled your ears with a steady increase in volume.
Then the smell of burned flesh followed you as you wondered what was happening. But you knew exactly what it was.
So you held your breath, the compression you wore suctioned against your chest more than before.
Clink, clink, clink. What could sound like chimes manipulated into something sinister.
His voice rumbled right into the cool dark, the lights flickering were starting to reveal a bit of his features. Still, you look in the mirror, seeing a hulking figure staggering towards the older white man.
Eyes narrow. Demanding. Stone-like. With a long brown coat that was pried open a bit to reveal something bone-chilling.
Bees in his chest. Burned flesh resembled reanimated life in the force of pure, unbridled revenge and hatred.
The frantic thuds in your chest was enough to gesture the entity forward, hearing that bodily function gave him chase, the growl in his voice after unwavering to finish.
Cool stilled the atmosphere and everything seemed to slow down with the light flickering rapidly this time, hearing footsteps but no person was anywhere to be found.
A scream however, symbolized his fate. An unfortunate one with what you can only acknowledge is the ripping of flesh. Nothing sounded as horrid except for butchering an animal.
And even then, the death was instant. Haunting sounds of gurgling on one's fluid, damning to see speckles of blood on the mirror a right down from you. Only then your eyes wandered, scared and curious all at once with crimson leaving what was left of a growing soul.
"Yes...the warmth of blood."
Husky vocals that can be used to calm, but it only did the opposite now. The calming nature of it was unnerving. As if this was second nature to him.
That got a reminder of what predicament you were in now. A deep whirlpool suctioning into the depths of Hell. Don't speak. No noise. Silence. Then you can escape.
You step slowly towards the sink, hugging the surface as the lights were still dim, hoping Candyman's eyesight worsened within the years he was dead. For safety measures, you stooped low to make yourself smaller, blending into the floor stained with blood.
Hopefully the guy you invited in with you is able to leave. Remembering that you got him caught up with the Candyman nonsense, you sucked in a breath, eyes softening to hope that he survives.
"Mmm, I smell more. More warmth. Fear."
Hearing the sadistic smile in his words almost got you to buckle down on your knees. The light flickered on and off, revealing what was left of the man's body.
Blood trickled closer to your feet and you saw the guy across from you trying to crawl out from under the stall, eyes widening and mouthing, "WHAT THE FUCK."
"Hiding will only prolong your inevitable."
Above you, the hook scrapped against the sink counter, closing in was the steady footsteps of dress shoes that squished.
On your fours, you crawled deliberately, slowly, with quiet conviction. You didn't even trust yourself to breathe, but your binder prompted you to do so or dying from asphyxiation. A few crawls later, you get in contact with something. A warm liquid, Smelled of copper.
And with Candyman's foots departing away from you, you took that chance to escape, crawling faster than before. Ragged breaths left wounded body, small jolty spasms before he finally went still. A few flickers of light revealed a huge chunk of neck missing from him, skin raw, ripped open, gushing with eyes rolled in the back of his head.
You didn't know how the guy made it to the door before you did. But you were close by, seeing brown, slender fingers and his silver ring shining.
It caught wind of rotting flesh and honey, the steps clicking and slow. Imposing yet unwavering with the scent of him holding somber memories of his past. It enveloped him unwillingly. Now the scent was used for fear.
A dirtied hook shone within, stabbing through his hand with deafening accuracy, the latter pouring out screams that shook even his older generations, pulling through to sever his hand open.
"AHHHH FUCK! SHIT! FUCKING-"
Blood splattered onto the door and near you, screaming continuing as he was pulled back slowly, crimson pouring with a chunk of white meat.
"Nah man, PLEASE! I got a girlfriend! I ain't do nothin' wrong, I swear!"
Desperate pleas fell upon hard of hearing ears, the entity pulling him away from the light, back into the darkness. Another slash sounded, his pleas drowning out within the gurgle of his own blood. Grunts, repetitive stabbing made it sound much different than what it was. Limpless thud to the floor, letting it devour and soak up his blood from empty husk.
Dark again. The door shut and the lights stopped flickering, no sound in the emptiness. Two dead.
Steady your breath. If only you weren't so sweaty from being near two murders back to back, it wouldn't feel like your death could happen sooner as the sweat was absorbed by your binder.
Now you had nowhere to go. Trapped. Exiting had no effect, you were to be killed one way or another. Tears burned your eyes of a thousand suns. Keep calm. Will he depart if you stayed quiet? Or just keep hunting you down like an animal? Does he know that you summoned him or was it luck?
After his fresh kill, Candyman walks away, wandering supposedly. The more you hear, the more you can hear the inconsistencies of his reanimation. He walks slow, slower than the average human yet his strength told a different story. A killer. The opposite of what he was like when he was alive. Before he was murdered himself all those years ago.
Now he stalks his prey. Whether he knew of your existence was unknown, but you didn't want to assume the best.
The smell of blood fills your nostrils, burning copper and metal was distinct, but strong. Could you get away with such strong stench in the restroom?
You hear the hooked man take in a deep breath.
"I smell something...sweet. Delectable."
A step forward. Closer. Too close for comfort. A low shivering gasp leaves your lips, heart betraying the stirring of excitement in your loins.
"Mm, I can hear your heart pounding for me, little one." A long, low purr entered without prompt. "Fearful, aren't you?"
Closer and close he inched, the buzzing of honey bees were starting to become a part of your nightmares, damningly so. But with burning flesh, there was fresh, sweet-smelling honey.
Metal found your skin, cold. Wet. Trailing down your neck, a wet residue was left, a chill that you couldn't control.
He hooks to your fabric, pulling you up from the floor, pushing you against the sink with such a strength that you didn't think was possible. Your back took most of the pain with a slam. If he was going to kill you quick, he was doing a terrible job with it so far.
A hoarse growl as his hook dragged across your cheek uncharacteristically soft. Before snagging it to draw blood.
Now that you had a closer look of him. Grim eyes, plump lips that soaked of low whispers. He looked almost exact to the murals, dark brown eyes filled with a vengeance that could make God shed a tear.
He leans in, cold nose pressing against your neck, deep inhale to take all of you in.
A low shudder leaves your lips, trying to move yourself away from his hook with small movements but each step you took, he only followed with slow, steady steps.
Like you were his food. Cornering you. Ready to devour.
A glance at the door for a brief moment before it was shadowed by brown fabric.
He didn’t speak immediately. Only smiled. Eyes scanning your body with a complexity that you could only think to be interest. What that interest was is a different beast all together, your body heating up with the prolonged silence.
“Delicious. Like the sweetest honey.”
A deep sniff once more, taking you in, hook dragging down your body with such eagerness that you had to hold your breath.
This was taking too long to meet your untimely death. Killing people was one thing, playing with your victim is another.
But biding your time would be better than dying.
“What, you think I smell good?” You questioned, the touch of his nose on your skin was making you more hot than you originally thought. A pulse, fluttering under skin that made you think about something other. “I ain’t do much but shower.”
A devious smile. A smile coaxing to slither into one’s mind. Thoughts that arose to be something dirty-minded and heinous.
The entity thought the same as his nose traveled down. From your neck to your shoulder down to your chest, taking a deep inhale of your scent.
Arms grasps around cold hands without another thought, not regretting until the last second. The husk stills itself on your chest, listening, sighing heavily. His hook finds your clothing, ripping it downward to expose your binder to him, pieces of shirt fluttering to the floor with silent drifts.
“W…W…Wait a damn minute…”
Breath quickening. Heart pounding with the cool air tickling your skin, coddling you as your arms automatically covered your chest.
He removes them however, with a push of his hands, ripping the binder clean off to show breasts. Exposed, chest up. Brown skin freckled with sun spots and other markings that created an eruption.
Pressing face against chest, another smell sounded, louder than the last.
Shuddered breaths brushed your skin. What you thought to be cold was the opposite. Despite him being a cold, supposedly dead being.
You couldn’t dare to stop him, knowing that if you did, it would make him remember what he was here for. Standing there, awaiting what to do next.
And your question was answered once he separated himself, no longer was cold skin against warm. But a different cold was replaced. Metal found you, smoothing downwards, scratching.
“You are meant for this very moment.”
Hook snags on lower fabric, pulling, teasing before he rips your pants into two. Another layer remained. Cotton. The atmosphere did little to help you calm yourself, if anything the chill worsened. Despicable. A warded company that continued to infiltrate.
Hook finding your boxers and tugging on them. He didn’t wait for your answer before ripping them off you, seeing cream and slick coated on the inside.
“Surrender yourself to me.”
Funny. Seeing that what was told to you, disobeying was warranted, a given even. But survival was not guaranteed nor was it predictable by his actions. Vanity—however often it was shown—was a defying force with the hooked one.
The nerve to fix his lips into a sadistic curl. A press of his thumb upon your lips, prying them open soft but forceful, not allowing you to protest.
But you took the chance to land your teeth into flesh, quick and straight to the point. It flavored of honey and burned flesh. He had still had the ability to experience pain, even in the afterlife.
Hook finding flesh again to cut. Scarlet dripped from wound, contrasting brown skin with a steady, slow stream from neck.
And you hated how much the warmth of blood against you was destroying your mental. That plus the cold surface of his hook was enough to warrant an unwanted grunt.
And by the tone of his voice, grim, unwavering and even, you knew he meant it. However, what you didn’t know he was going to do was lick the blood off of your neck, pressing his body to imprison and stop any movement away from his grasps.
You also didn’t take in account what brushed against your stomach through his coat. Thickness that could only be described as his. The gall of him to have that.
Not long after, his hand found your neck, holding. A long stripe gathered liquid, filling his esophagus with metallic taste.
“Mm…good.” The nerve to purr, soothe while his actions granted otherwise with jagged edges. “Do as you’re told.”
Seething in your skin, reluctance palms finds fabric, pulling him closer to distract. Focus on you. Focus on how good you felt on his skin. Blunt nails dug into clothed back, symbolizing what you must do.
Only then did his leer grow, coddling your cheek with false tenderness. Large leg dividing yours apart, little restraint with your legs pressing together subconsciously.
But he forced them apart with little force, it was the opposite for you.
“You think I want you?” A sneer. “Fucking perv.”
Pasted up. Faulty. Mocking. Distract yourself from the feeling of warmth coddling your body without warning. Rough, grim voice filling the air.
“Your body’s telling me everything, little one.”
He presses metal against your sternum. A slow, sharp glide down to mark skin little by little.
Hook finds lower anatomy, pressing. Unwavering. Pressure made you buckle.
“You will reveal that to me.”
Cold metal rubbed against your erect clit, legs crumbling under your weight as you gripped brown fabric tight.
