anyways this particular rant is about platonic intimacy

like, i've always been pretty touchy feely with my family, especially my mom and i've always felt the need to just have a lot of skin on skin contact with others, not romantic or sexual at all, just holding peoples hands or hugging them or sitting side by side

and when i talked to my mom about that, she always said that one day i'd find 'the one' and until then i'd just have to be patient

but the thing is, i've been considering lately that i might be aromantic, not panromantic as i'd previously assumed

for example, when i was a kid, i picked my crushes based on which boys were the least annoying. later i moved on to reciprocally 'liking' everyone who had a crush on me because i assumed that i was supposed to and that getting into a relationship was The Thing To Do. so im thinking maybe something is up here

but back to the question of intimacy. i don't even know if im allosexual. right now i dont want sexual or romantic intimacy, i want my friends to hold my hand when we hang out, i want to be able to cuddle with people without the expectation that this means we are involved or that it will lead to sex. i just want to hold and be held and express my love for my friends through platonic physical intimacy

but again, every time i bring this up, its like 'you'll find your person one day', but thats not it, i dont want that person, i want the people i have. i dont feel desperate for a romantic relationship, i just want to be closer in the relationships i already have

all i want to do is peacefully stack some blocks together for a little while but instead with every row i fill the game just gets faster and faster until my inevitable demise
