Hi everyone! I’m a practicing pagan currently working on a video essay titled "Faith vs. Fandom – Gods Turned Pop Culture."

The core of the essay is about the blurred line between modern fandom and ancient folklore, how ancient deities are being portrayed in modern pop culture.

I want to include real voices from the community—Pagans, Hellenists, Norse practitioners, witches, polytheists—anyone who actively engages with these deities in a spiritual or cultural context.

What I’d love to know from you:

What’s your take on fictional portrayals like Lore Olympus, Percy Jackson, Epic, or any others you have seen/read/watched?

Have any of these works inspired your spiritual path, or pushed you away?

Have they helped or harmed your experience as a modern believer?

Where do you personally draw the line between creative liberty and misrepresentation?

How do you feel when fictional versions of gods get mistaken for the real thing, like CEO blue hades from Lore olympus?

Have these interpretations made people take your beliefs less seriously or easier to understand through the fictional lens?
