Beer of the day 2ish… @vitaminseabrewing Alone and Adrift 7%. Thanks to the good people @hopburnsblack for having this one in stock. New beer and new brewery for me. Always a tasty exchange. Nose is surprisingly subtle. But give it a few whiffs and there’s some great pineapple and biscuit there does not have a sniff of being 7%. Freaking refreshing. Easy on the initial mouth feel with a good mouth coating going on. The taste is bang on. Easy tropics combine with soft malts and that unmistakable yeast ester of an NE IPA. If you see this beer. Buy it. Another archive post for you. Remember bottled hype beers? Well here was an OG UK Whale. Beer of the day 105. @cloudwaterbrew DIPA v2, 9.6%. A great nose of mango and pineapple with hints of pine and yeasty esters pulls you into this deceptively strong beer. The first thing you get when you taste is a big hit of malts that turn your tongue into a punching bag ready for the right fist of fruity hops, more pineapple and some papaya, followed the left hook of yeasty flavours, there to tie the beer together before you're floored by an uppercut of a finish, a little boozy then dry then fruity then dry again for a long lasting finish. This is one of my favourite beers around, I’ve always been a saison fan and this one brings it to the next level. All the yeasty, earthy esters are there along with the slight souring you’d expect. Then the dry hopping raises the bar. Beer of the day 1 new @upfrontbrewing das is techno sex. Passion fruit and key lime gose. Okay okay. This one has a sweet coriander nose that hints at the sour notes contained within. Super clean 1st sip that quickly descends into passion fruit sweet and lime sour. It makes your mouth water so much you just need another taste and another and another. Beer of the day 124. Tree House SSSapp, 7%. Juicy, bold and the rest. As you’d expect and excellent IPA. a lightly floral aroma and a very light juicy 1st taste gives way to a big dry and hoppy finish that lingers the perfect amount of time. #beeroftheday www.beeroftheday.co.uk

Beer of the day 123. Trillium Fort Point, 6.6%. As soon as you crack the can you are assaulted by the massive fruity hop aromas, kiwi and mango to my nose, intertwine with a dank earthiness. The taste is all subtle notes from biscuit to dank forest and around to fresh fruit salad. Quite a light and refreshing finish that lingers just long enough. A great beer. Beer of the day 122. Buxton x Omnipollo Yellow Belly 11%. An imperial stout with aromas of peanut and biscuit. It lives up to all you've heard, it truly does have a peanut butter biscuit aroma something totally unexpected from a beer but if there is one thing to expect from omnipollo in particular it is an unusual beer! It has a smooth and sweet taste that to me has dates and other red fruits there. A beer that isn't a beer but yet still is. Beer of the day 121. Beavertown Tropigamma 7%. An amped up tropical fruit version of the modern classic. It's got pineapple, mandarin, papaya, passionfruit, guava, mango and lime juice! Phew! The lime and the passionfruit dominate the nose but the taste is a perfect amalgamation of the fruit and hops tied together by a dank, spicy yeast. Unlike some other fruity ipas this one always maintains the taste of a beer and it is all the better for it. Beer of the day 120. Cantillon Fou'Foune (2015 edition) 5%. A wonderful blend of lambics and apricots that creates a very sour and lightly fruity beer. The smell is funky with wonderfully deep and subtle apricot tinge. Then onto the taste with gooseberries and a wild strawberry flavour before the finish morphs from back of the mouth super sour into the apricot aftertaste that feels like you might have been drinking a different beer all along. Believe the hype. This is good the younger versions have more fruit flavours than this too. www.beeroftheday.co.uk

Beer of the day 119. Dugges x Stillwater tropic folk 3.5%. This is a pure juice bomb of a beer. A nose of peach and mango temps the senses which is unsurprising as it's got both of those fruits in it! The taste is a wonderful balance of lacto sour and playful fruits messing around on the tongue. The finish is sweet and sour. Beer of the day 118 northern Monk mango lassi heathen, 7.2%. In a 360 degree opening can this beer smells so strongly of mango it's almost like a juice. Beer of the day 117. To Øl Mr. Pink 4.5%. Lychee and pink guava in a Berliner weisse, yes please! A super fruity nose that smells of pink grapefruit and citrus, really unlike any other beer. It's very sour and tart on the tongue with more fruit flavours and salt lurking in there. Beer of the day 116. To øl and Põhjala ginie (in a bottle) 4.2%. A gin inspired gose. A really soft lemonade smell on this beer with touches of mixed berries and salt. It really is an inviting smell. Once you accept the invite you are treated to a plethora of tastes dry, sweet, salty and savoury all at once. Beer of the day 115. Saison DuPont dry hopping 2016 6.5%. The newest version of this world beater of a beer. A sweet and funky nose that gives a hint of the dryness within. The taste has a bready tinge that is quickly swept aside by dry hop notes and a fine carbonation. It has a long finish that is funky and different to virtually anything else out there. Beer of the day 114. @gipsyhillbrew x #thecraftbeerchannel drifter 7.0%. A London version of an east coast IPA. Quite a subdued nose on this with subtle plum and pineapple notes muddled in with the malts. The taste is really smooth and balanced. A beer that takes you on a journey from sweet malts through soft fruits and onto s dry finish that's actually quite quick but very good. The yeast imparts a good body and mouth feel along with that distinctive Vermont yeast taste. Excellent work guys. www.beeroftheday.co.uk

Beer of the day 113. @treehousebrewco julius, 6.8%. IPA from Massachusetts with a huge juicy fruits nose, kiwi, mango and pineapple shout out to the senses. It has a brash loud taste again there are big fruit flavours but the yeast is present and comes out too in what is a beautifully balanced and wonderfully crafted beer. So damn good I'm gonna have to drink more. www.beermerchants.com

Beer of the day 112. @omnipollo magic numbers 3.5 pineapple gose, 3.5%. Famed for making beers that don't taste of beer omnipollo have done it again. This one smells like freshly cut pineapples that have had limes lavishly squeezed over them and lemon zest hanging round too. The taste, that taste, it begins with the tight light carbonation then progresses into tart citric vibes before rounding a corner onto salt and lime then it comes to a full stop with a gooseberry and astringent shirt finish.
