wildly emotionally rich concept here especially when you think about jannik being a serial monogamist who seems to actually have game. like in this scenario im moving them ten years in the future and maybe jannik is divorced now and carlos was in love with him for an embarrassing amount of time and starts dating someone new (a GUY!) and jannik (lonely comma stupid but not emotionally unintelligent) like. maybe has some realizations about carlos being an option and how he’s the person he most wants to spend time with while staring down the grueling schedule of the tour and also probably retirement in a few years while CARLOS is internally going. FINALLY i can move on and be gay in public like i have FINALLY cut jannik loose at the big age of 33 i can live my life without the crushing specter of loneliness that has haunted me for the past twelve years…. and THEN jannik starts putting the moves on him and it’s like an atomic bomb gets lobbed into the middle of their relationship lol
