breaking bad, fight club, rick and morty, clockwork orange, and the catcher in the rye are all arguably good things - but if a man says they are his FAVORITE book/movie/tv show? RUN.
Can someone explain this to me?
Theyāre all works that are examinations of compelling but deeply flawed (usually narcissistic and violent) men. People rightly like all these works because they are good, but the implication of the original post is that if a guy says they are his favorite work, he is probably misunderstanding the point of the work and instead idolizing the male protagonist and is unable to recognize their flaws.
Basically, ask why they like it. If they like it because they think itās well-written and made, youāre probably good. But if they want to be like Walter White, or Tyler Durden, or Rick Sanchez, or Alex DeLarge, or Holden Caulfield: yeah, RUN.
Finally I can reblog this post.
This also goes for Mad Men, run like hell from any guy who identifies with/idolizes Don Draper

Is this not the cutest thing youāve ever seen? Norwegian gymnast Sofus Heggemsnes bows to the judges after his floor routine in Doha (at 1:27).
He does this every time, this weird little bow and then runs off the podium super happy. Adorable!

Nearly three decades ago, Liang Chow first brought his Chinese coaching expertise to the United States. After coaching Americans Shawn Johnson and Gabby Douglas to gold medals at two Olympic Games, Chow is taking his experience back to Beijing as the new head coach for the Chinese women's national team.
Chowās goal is to have the ābest of both worldsā in Beijing. He says he is keen on introducing some of the āAmerican attitudeā toward youth sports by bringing some fun to the gym.
āIām promoting āhappy Gymnasticsā and āhappy sportsā instead of just only hard work,ā says Chow, also known as Qiao Liang. āI think China is more open to these ideas.ā
Chow took over the national coach post in April of this year and has been dividing his time between Iowa and Beijing ever since. This week he is in Doha (QAT) at the World Championships, wearing the China warmup for the first time since his retirement from the Chinese menās national team in 1991.
The invitation to return as head coach came as a result of the Chinese governmentās interest in fostering international relations, Chow says. Last December, Chow and his wife, coach Liwen Zhuang, hosted the Chinese womenās team at their club, Chowās Gymnastics and Dance Institute in Des Moines, Iowa. Chinaās sports leadership was very happy with the training camp, he says, and things moved forward from there.
āChina is developing a good relationship with other countries, especially through Gymnastics,ā says Chow, who became a U.S. citizen in 2002. āThey want to develop not only sport, but education, and open up the dialogue so there are no more boundaries.ā
Instead of the āone team, one dreamā mantra, China is envisioning a āone world, one dreamā philosophy, Chow says.
