Imagine picking up up a pint of ice cream for $5 and when you get to the register it's $6. This is going to be a nightmare for everyone who works there.
If you catch them raising prices on you in the store, complain. Get a manager. Make a scene. Show them time-stamped photos of prices: "I put a $5 item in my cart and that's how much I intend to pay for it." Do it every day. Give them 1 star reviews.
Consumer backlash is how we stop this. It's the only way. Especially with companies like Walmart that have established themselves as the only option in rural communities. It's not "being a Karen" if you're making legitimate complaints and being exploited.
As a former Walmart service desk associate- please don't cause a scene actually. Please don't get a manager. The people making these decisions will NOT listen to their store employees and actively tries to push out(or overwork to death) any employees that have grievances, legitimate or not. Instead, I am BEGGING YOU- I am on my knees and BEGGING YOU- to just... Call corporate directly and make a formal, legitimate complaint. I'll even give you the number: 1-800-925-6278
Please don't prank call it or make threats to the csr's on the phones. If you want this to backpedal, then make serious complaints and make it clear you're angry about this without being a ruthless prick to the underpaid associate who has to take verbal beatings all day for the dumbasses above their heads' decisions. The only difference between the csr's on the phone and the ones you see everyday is that the big idiots upstairs will actually listen to the phone csr's because that's what they're for.
Reblogging this manually. Op doesn't want credit for fear of being terminated.

this may just be me going into overanalysis mode but i feel like the choreography of spellcasting can tell you so much about a magic user. a snap of the fingers, for example, implies confidence, even arrogance, while hands thrust out and straining to the fingertips suggests desperation, throwing one's whole body into the spell as though hoping the physical effort will make a difference. rapid, jerky body language tells you that a spellcaster is passionate and reckless, while graceful, fluid movements demonstrate calm and concentration. some magic users may choose to stomp their feet or clap their hands when casting, channeling power through percussive motion, whilst others may see magic as a tool separate from the self, and focus is through objects like a wand or staff. a new spellcaster just coming into their power may be tentative and slow, but a practiced study of magic will be able to rely on muscle memory to guide them.

A bill introduced in the House and Senate would prevent hedge funds from owning single-family houses in the United States.
Holy shitballs, please do this.
"The bill would require hedge funds, defined as corporations, partnerships or real estate investment trusts that manage funds pooled from investors, to sell off all the single-family homes they own over a 10-year period, and eventually prohibit such companies from owning any single-family homes at all. During the decade-long phaseout period, the bill would impose stiff tax penalties, with the proceeds reserved for down-payment assistance for individuals looking to buy homes from corporate owners."
I desperately want this to happen. I don’t think it will happen because it would seriously hurt a lot of people with lots of money, but it absolutely should.
A sweeping new bill introduced in Congress would essentially ban hedge funds and private equity firms from buying single-family homes.
Adding a link ppl can actually read, no shade on op, full shade on nyt
