We know for a fact from the payphone call and Jean Viquemare that Dora was in fact real. However, when we encounter her in the dream at the fort at the end of the game, she appears as Dolores Dei, the Innocence strongly associated with the Moralintern (aka liberalism). Why? It's so Harry's own personal struggle mirrors the struggle of the failed revolution that was crushed by the Moralintern, and then failed to move on from it.

This is further established by Dora choosing to have an abortion when she became pregnant with Harry’s child. The baby represents how a union between a failed communist state and a materially driven liberal one is fundamentally impossible. No matter how badly the left wants it, the liberal establishment will always terminate a future that requires compromising with a communist agenda. The cold way she answers* perfectly mirrors the same clinical pragmatism that defines the Moralintern. In her eyes, Harry is a poverty-stricken fuck, why would she have his baby?

Then when Dora leaves, she leaves for Graad, and lives in the capital city of Mirova. This is the very birthplace of Mazovian communism that ultimately, literally, died there with Mazov’s suicide. It is the ultimate slap in the face to the communists.

It's all an extended metaphor for both how hard it is to move on from a failed revolution, but how society needs to move on from it to start the fight anew. It’s just as intensely political as the rest of the game is.

As the Insulindian Phasmid says, “Turn from the ruin. Turn and go forward. Do it for the working class.”

Nikki clearly cherishes the friendship at the start of the movie, before the wish takes over. We know she checked in on Bear after his grandma died, genuinely wanted him at trivia night to the point of calling him, then on the car ride on the way home she clearly tells him how he’s the only person she can discuss her writing with. It’s so clear the friendship matters to her.

Then as Bear begins dropping romantic signals, you can see her demeanor instantly shift and she becomes frustrated. She calls it weird when he says he got her something, then brings up their friend having a crush on him as a way to push his interest elsewhere. She’s trying to salvage the situation. When he drops her off and calls her Freaky Nikki, she asks him if he likes her in a CLEARLY frustrated way because now he’s pushing her boundaries (it’s very established she does not like or want people calling her that) so she needs to deal with it. And throughout it all Bear just keeeepssss going with it, ignoring every sign she was giving him to drop it.

Because her wants never mattered to him from the start.

I’ve actually played Blue Prince! And 100%ed it, I love the game. Sadly, my playthrough just wasn’t compelling enough to upload. :( I had a repeatedly weird order for discoveries and had some “ah ha” moments happen offline for realizing what was going on in the story itself. It’s not a knock on the game, it’s just not every playthrough I do is gonna be good enough to post for me personally.

Just in case you needed a little extra nudge. Beyond the fact that what I initially assumed was seaweed was actually likely HAIR, they've hidden a little hanging body right in the battle graphic! It's even still there in an earlier stage of the battle, but a tad more amorphous. BUT ALSO! In the earlier graphic, the body + seaweed/hair around it actually recreates the shape of SOMETHING's eye. It's so good! They really just crushed it with the visual hints/symbols in the game.

Obviously there’s no way to prove this but I think it’s interesting to think that Sunny is also imagining a soundtrack to his own life as he runs around? And that in Faraway Town he specifically imagines a happy upbeat sound as he adventures with his friends in real life again. 🥺
