Her gaze didn’t even bother dropping to the cardboard inside her hands, nor the surrounding area. Her gaze remained on Zeno, occasionally the cigarette smoke that polluted the air between them, before falling on the dark invasive veins that bloomed over his pale skin. The same that plagued her, Leon and Birkin’s daughter. The same unknown virus that was bring an end to the lives of Raccoon City survivors.

What a shame that they survived such a horrific event, just to die like this.

Her eyes trailed to her bare wrist, looking at the same ugly dark veins. A reminder of why she was doing this, even if it wasn’t over her own infection. “Tired? That’s not a luxury I get to afford.” She quipped with, not in a world plagued with viruses and bioweapons. Ada never had the option to dwell on being tried. “Underselling?” A smirk fell over Ada’s features, while she was fully aware of her capabilities. She never allowed herself to become overly confident. “Modesty simply another form of misdirection, it makes your enemies underestimate you. That’s when they make mistakes.”

Only then did she open the folder, dark gems scanning the contents. Studying the information at a quick glance. “You’ve arranged transport, established deniability, identified the target and still manage to think this whole operation won’t somehow circle back to you.” Her silk-lined voiced hummed between them. “Optimistic of you.”

“The BSAA couldn’t gain access to the official channels because they are run by a bunch of idiots.” She calmly spoke unimpressed by the BSAA’s performance stats, along with their casualty rates. “Fortunately for you, I’m not them.” the folder closed settling underneath her arm.

"Is that what I am?" Zeno asked with a soft and curious lilt. "An enemy? And here I am providing the very thing keeping you and your associates alive." He was no fool. There were too many doses of the suppressant for just one person. It was a courtesy on his part that he hadn't pried yet. So long as he got what he needed.

"We can agree on that at least." The BSAA were fools, but it wasn't entirely their fault when the puppet masters pulling the strings in the dark were from the same entity that paid him his check. "Some missions require a more subtle approach, though they have their uses."

The German suited her somehow, he surmised. "That would depend on how well you maintain your cover." He had noted the jab about his paper trail but this was not his first mission briefing. "Or am I misplacing my optimism?" He smirked before stating in a deadpan tone. "It's a bio weapons facility. The locals risk their lives knowingly already." He sighed. "As for the headcount, it depends on your perspective. One? Three-thousand? The implications if we do not acquire their research are greater. It's worth the risk." By the Connections' calculations, it was worth it. Which was all he cared for.

Associates that word sunk into Ada’s skin, the thought of Leon and Sherry being her associates was almost laughable. Yet, part of her was grateful this was how Zeno seen the two. Had he known of the soft place in her heart for one of the two, it would give him more leverage to use her and Ada Wong couldn’t allow that. “Enemy? No that would imply permanence”

Amber gems targeted onto the dimming light of the stick between his fingers. Cigarettes often reminded her of Luis Serra back in Spain where she worked for Albert. Her eyes shifted to Zeno, the resemblance was uncanny in her eyes. A few minor differences. “Today you have my interest, a supply I am in need of if you will.” Her head tilted slightly. “It only takes a slight shift and everyone is expendable.” She said carrying the tone of a confident woman, rather than one who was slowly decaying from the inside out. “I’ve learned to not become attached to labels. They quickly change.”

“I can maintain a cover? Have you not seen my resume!” She quipped adjusting the glove that covered the black skinned hand, concealing the painful virus from the world. “I’ve had more difficult infiltrations. I can promise I’ll be finished in impressive timing. Even with this virus eating at me.”

Zeno tilted his neck until the cartilage cracked. He was pleased that she took the bait of him questioning her capabilities. "Indeed. Minimal loss of life would be preferable. We wouldn't be having this conversation if I hadn't seen your resume. You are not my only available resource. Just well suited and well motivated for the mission." He didn't want to give her the impression he was dependant on her, after all.

Huffing at the idea that he might not fulfil his part of a deal, Zeno stubbed his cigarette out in a small portable ashtray he kept in his pocket, stowing the end to be disposed of later. He had no intention of leaving his DNA around carelessly. Not infront of Ada at least. "Worry about your end, and I'll worry about mine."

She had been there well before she needed to be, if there was one thing Ada was it was prepared. Of course what else did she have? Leon was the only person whom she shared any form of connection with, and event then she almost rarely seen or acknowledged him. So when she wasn’t working, Ada had all the time in the world, why not show up early. Being one step ahead of the game was how she worked best.

Of course the moment Zeno arrived he caught her cautious eye. He was early she was rather impressed. She was used to employers who tested their luck, tried to use the timing to their advantage things Ada would walk away from the contact. Of course no matter if Zeno did test his luck, she had no choice. The item she was paying for kept her, and the two she cared for the most alive.

Her attention drew to the resources instantly scanning over various weapons. A gloved hand pressing against steel of various rifles, submarine guns and of course knives. Lifting a pistol she checked the chamber, good quality and loaded. Fully upgraded to the best of abilities. She spun it once in her hand testing the weight. Then holstered it, the combat knife followed, along with basic first aid and of course a few other items including a fiber line.

She never equipped herself excessively, most wouldn’t find her. If caught she was usually underestimated and gone before any real damages could be done, that of course excluded a few situations here and there. Her eyes landed on the injector. “I don’t like dulling my senses unless I need to, I’ll save it for when my symptoms worsen and threaten to impair me.” She couldn’t deny the virus was spreading throughout her. Ada had a habit of waiting until it was at a breaking point before dosing.

Her fingers traced over the injector eyes following its sleek design. Almost mocking her that her own salvation was this small injection, as was others. This virus had gotten out of hand. Nothing worked and nobody not even the government knew what it was. “I’ll make this quick.”

Turning her head to the side looking at the wall. “A bowtie, that’s just absurd.”

“The gym shorts probably made for a more efficient movement, jeans can be restricting.” She quipped tapping her chin. Her head tilted slightly to the side. “I don’t think the suit would be for me. Someone else can dress like a rabbit.” She hummed blinking for a moment. “Eye on another prize huh? Sounds like you have your hands full.”

“I think I’ll risk getting hamburger legs, my attire seems to suit me better.” She quipped then tapping her chin like she had been handed a juicy piece of gossip. “How interesting, anyone ever tell you. That you are an open book?” Her head tilted to the side. “I’m glad you have a mouse to chase. You deserve a happy life, after the things you have endured.”
