27 years to $100 million, 41 to $1 billion, and 54 to $1 trillion. This is one of the most absurd things I've ever seen. While the numbers might be inflated, they are a testament to the fact that value investing is truly dead. You try getting rich slowly in an era of accelerating speed. A 1000x return in 14 years, followed by another 1000x in the next 13. The momentum is on another level. It's insane. At this point, to tout Buffett's rags-to-riches story... Musk did that too. To talk about building a $1 trillion business over a century... Musk did it in 27. This has become the highest mountain and widest river that value investing cannot get around. What do you do when someone else executes your concept better, but not through your model? This is the fatal flaw of so-called value investors today. They hide behind Buffett and Munger, trying to leech off their success without putting in the work, unable to create and adapt to the new era.
