there is an episode of the laughing salesman where a new company employee is afraid of his boss because his boss scares him. he is a mothers boy, and rather weak. he stop going to work and hides in the park. the laughing salesman tells him to start knitting at work to release stress. when he starts knitting, all the employees laugh at him. his boss calls him up to the roof, and the employee thinks he is going to be scolded. but the boss actually corrects his knit work and says please keep knitting a secret. eventually they bond.. the employees mother finds out and gets jealous, and in front of all the employees gives the boss luxury cashmere.

the bosses face is utterly destroyed, a career ending event in japan. the employee finds out that his boss will quit and open up his own knitting classroom.. moved, the employee quits and joins him as his assistant. the mother finds out and basically calls out the boss say you turned my son into this.
