Not at all. Creata was in near-final form over a year before Act 7 was released, and the piano draft for Conclude dates back to 2010.

Not much in the way of formal training, really. I grew up in a somewhat musically-inclined family and absorbed a variety of musical influences from a young age. I made up a few basic piano ditties in elementary school and junior high, but it wasn’t until I entered high school (1994) that I got into writing digital music and started coming up with more complex musical ideas. In my first year of college, I majored in Music Composition (a career path I chose not to continue on), but most of the focus there was on exploration and trial & error rather than formal music theory.

The choral parts were painstakingly created using EWQL Symphonic Choirs. The solo voice is literally just me singing falsetto with some pitch correction added because I suck at pitch accuracy in that range.

It’s to help avoid confusion with a UK beatboxer named James Fox who goes by the moniker BeatFox (styled with a capital F). We aren’t connected in any way. Check him out, though - he’s got some superb beats!

I don’t make sheet music of my tunes, I’m afraid - that’s a whole other job/hobby unto itself, complete with its own set of requisite skills. The best place to check if what you’re looking for already exists would be the Homestuck Sheet Music Thread on the Wayback Machine achive of the MSPA Forums. Although “Conclude” was the last official Homestuck track that I worked on (right up to the album deadline), it actually existed in complete piano draft form way back in 2010. From the beginning, I had always intended "Conclude” to be something with a real sense of finality, something that could potentially accompany the ending of the comic (even if it never got used in the comic itself). The piano draft sat around for years while I worked on other music, but I always had it in the back of my mind as something I eventually wanted to flesh out in time for the final album. I’m immensely happy that I managed to keep the necessary motivation and pull it off!

The second was a brief EDM-ish demo entitled “Skaia Voyages”, based on the “Sburban Jungle” and “Skies of Skaia” themes. While nothing came of it during that time, it evolved many years later into something far grander in scope.

It’s out now, and it’s completely awesome. 25 tracks in total (3 of which are mine), with a running time of nearly 2 hours. Hope you enjoy!
