Okay so we all had that conversation about Ray resembling Preminger, but recently something bigger stood out to me, personally.
So why does Ray look (and in the eng dub) sound like he stepped out of an anime?! He looks like he should be the president of a super powerful, possibly evil student council.
I know I’m doing a massive disservice to the man himself, (because he’s way better of a character than Ray) but I keep getting reminded of Saionji from Rgu.
young, naïve, and really miserable

RGU Episode Bracket Battle - Round 17
The Romance of the Dancing Girls (Episode 32) vs. The Prince Who Runs Through the Night (Episode 33). Or, Nanami and Utena are irreparably psychologically damaged.
Feel free to submit propaganda for your favorites in the comments or reblogs! + reblog for a bigger sample size please! Also, feel free to share your opinions about the direction of the poll in the comments or reblogs, they really do give me a good giggle ૮꒰˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶꒱ა
Episode 32 synopsis (from the wiki): Nanami is terrified of what she saw last night and broken by Touga's betrayal. She cannot help but connect Anthy and Akio's relationship to her own feelings for Touga. Touga presses Nanami on whether her true feelings for him are the same as Anthy's for Akio. To prove that she is not like Anthy, Nanami challenges Utena to a duel.
Episode 33 synopsis (from the wiki): The Shadow Play Girls host a bizarre radio show that frames a recap of the most recent duels. Meanwhile, Akio brings Utena to an amusement park, and what happens between them forever changes her feelings about Akio, Anthy, her prince and herself.

I love the interpretation that Mikage liked BOTH Chida siblings even more with the Bisexual headcannons. Do you think there's a difference in interpreting Bisexuality in Utena and Mikage's characters respectively? Considering they're supposed to be narrative foils of each other.
With Utena's case we actually get to see her perspective and experiences with men which can be interpreted as intense comphet cope or baby bisexual disaster getting shot by pedo bullets. Mikage's relationship with Tokiko is so intentionally vague in comparison that it never really sat right with me to reduce the Tokiko-Mikage-Mamiya dynamic to another Diddykio-Utena-Anthy. Which makes it hard to imagine his true feelings towards Tokiko. We realized his feelings for Mamiya at the end yet Tokiko's is left vague.
That post about Mikage was written a long time ago. While I still stand by him being bisexual, my analysis on some of the details might differ now.I think Utena's fondness for Dios stems from her longing for fairy tales and the direct help Dios gave her in her memories. Up until the Black Rose arc, she still saw Anthy as a friend and nothing more. It was only under the influence of Touga and Akio—when her fairy-tale longing was shattered and she recalled her true memories—that she was able to confront and respond to her feelings for Anthy.Mikage, however, might be more emotionally detached. Even just witnessing the interactions between Tokiko and Mamiya was enough to deeply move him. Tokiko pursuing eternity for her brother's sake was like something out of a fairy tale, and when she asked Nemuro about eternity and pulled him into that game, it resonated. Tokiko, as the older sister trying to act like a prince, was someone Nemuro looked up to. He might have developed feelings for both of them simply because he wanted this story to have a happy ending. But after Akio interfered—Mamiya died, and Tokiko was forced to shed her prince's facade—Nemuro probably lost trust in her the moment he saw that kiss.
Tokiko might actually serve as a foil to both Utena and Akio. Before her brother's death, she played the role of a prince to protect him, just like Utena. And in the kiss scene, she's by Akio's side—lost and adrift, much like Utena would later be. This was devastating for Nemuro on two levels: on one hand, Tokiko didn't return his feelings; on the other, this scene shattered the fairy-tale framework the Chida siblings had built all along, proving once and for all that Tokiko was not the prince he had believed her to be.He wanted to preserve the beautiful memories. He wanted the story to go on. He wanted to see that happy ending. So he chose to accept Akio's terms and become Mamiya's prince.
This also explains why Mikage later develops hostility toward Utena after identifying her as Tokiko. Mikage sees Tokiko's departure as her having "abandoned him"—abandoned Mamiya, and chosen to become someone else's princess.Mikage's behavior toward Tokiko (Utena) also bears some resemblance to Utena's own behavior during the duel with Akio. Which is also why I see Tokiko as similar to Akio in certain ways. But comparing the real Mamiya with the Mamiya in Mikage's memories, I don't think she was a pedophile, nor do I think she oppressed her brother—Akio clearly altered a great deal of content in Mikage's memories.
(Sorry I'm super tired right now so there might be some plot holes or stuff I missed.please bear with me )
