Dear insta friends. This week my personal highlight was being able to eat at my favourite Vietnamese again. On the one hand I was so grateful that they survived the lockdown and I was able to have a moment of normality. On the other hand masks, empty tables and anxious expressions reminded us of a time in where we are told to distance rather than reach out. I am thinking especially of those who are alone right now, maybe don’t have family or even friends. Those without the comforts of home and fearful of the present as well as future. I could go on posting lovely interior images, which also inspire and let us dream, but I feel we shouldn’t forget to address those who find it hard to dream right now. This photo was taken last summer by my excellent photographer @wernergritzbach and my two wonderful models and friends @nathalievongordon.stylist and @rosenundrevolver. In somewhat lighter times, looking back now. And even thought we got thoroughly soaked on that warm August day. Are you unable to be with your mother today on Mother’s Day? The two ladies I miss most in my life. My grandmother who was one of the the funniest women I know and always had time to write me a letter. This was the last time I saw her before she passed away. And my mother who I always miss because she lives with my Dad in the UK. I was supposed to be there right now. Let‘s all practise a little self love this weekend. With all the stress and worry we have during our tricky times, it’s important to take time out to do something special just for you. Reading a great book, going for a long walk or trying out a new skin routine. I’ve always usually used my soap and water in a rush and slapped and old cream on. Now I’ve realised that our skin, our biggest organ as at least as important , if not moreso, as our homes. My Austrian roots brought me to ringana for example, Europe’s only fresh cosmetics brand and a beautiful design at that! And I’ve never looked back. What do you do for self love? How are you doing? It might feel like all the doors are closing right now, but maybe our strange times present new opportunities and chances that we hadn’t seen before. I can only say that over the last few weeks I have seen and spoken to people I haven’t seen on over 20 years ! Without our tricky times, I probably would never have come up with the idea to video along lost friend or suggest a digital chat.
