What do you mean you have no idea who Colin Firth is? You’re kidding…right Ponty? Wait, you’re NOT?

Okay I see I’m gonna have to educate you. Take a seat, babes. It’s gonna be a long one…

Colin Firth is an English Actor, Silver Fox, and all around cool guy. He has been my forever crush since I was 10 years old, when I first saw him as the dad in Nanny McPhee. I’m not sure what that says about my daddy issues but whatever.

Wow, that movie is a lot kinkier than I remember it being, 10 year old me must have been on to something.

Anyways, he is a very talented British actor who started his career in the 1980s.

Isn’t he beautiful??? He made a name for himself starring in period pieces, culminating in the leading man role to end all leading man roles, Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy in Pride and Prejudice

Sexy. Smoldering. Scintillating.

After this he continued to land roles in various prestige projects, such as The English Patient, Shakespeare in Love and A Single Man.

Classic. But the most important of these projects is The King’s Speech, for which he won his Oscar as King George VI in 2011.

However, he is not just a stuffy serious actor. Oh no. He is quite versatile, starring in many romantic comedies, like The Importance of Being Earnest, Love Actually, and my personal favorite, Bridget Jones’ Diary.

Yeah……He’s also really funny but the gifs don’t tell the jokes very well do yourself a favor and watch the movie.

He is also known for his most commercially successful movie (I think? It was at one time it might have been out-grossed) Mamma Mia! in which he sings.

He is gay and he is glorious in this one

Most recently he has gotten attention for joining the action movie circuit, starring as Harry Hart, The most British Secret Agent to ever British, in Kingsman: The Service. This is a big deal because the sequel, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, is coming out in the Fall.

But most importantly, he is a cool guy in real life. He is hilarious and kind in interviews, and a devoted father to his three kids and husband to his wife, Livia. In addition he is an activist for various charitable causes.

So in short, Colin Firth is not only a Sexy Silver Fox who has held my heart’s attention for eleven years but a talented artist and super awesome dude. I hope this has been informative. Go Forth and Firth, Ponty. Go Forth and Firth.
