We only know Elle Woods is smart because we are told she is smart. She does everything that requires actual effort off screen. Every plot point is solved by her femininity. Her femininity is always painted as her greatest asset and what saves the day for her. Elle Woods is not an intellectual ideal, she is an ideal bimbo, a woman who breezes through things with a happy, perky, unshakably positive attitude, whose looks and knowledge of fashion and makeup and feminine culture allows her to breeze through life looking picture perfect at every moment.

reading about it here from detrans and dysphoric women, i think of transgenderism as a mental illness. basically an individual experiences a feeling of disconnect/unease/anxiety toward their body in connection with society’s expectations/stereotypes (symptom), is diagnosed with gender dysphoria (illness) and tried to alleviate their suffering through transitioning (treatment). seems logical enough so far i guess.

but here’s what i don’t understand: when you are ill, your goal is to heal, to go back to normal. e.g. you have bronchitis. you take meds so you won’t be sick anymore. or you suffer from depression; you (hopefully) have people around you to confide in, you go to therapy, you are prescribed meds. eventually (hopefully again) you get better. youre ‘you’ again. perhaps you still go through some depressive episodes, but it doesn’t define you. after all, you wouldn’t introduce yourself or identify as a depressive person.

in the case of gender dysphoria, at what point do you get better? when are you healed? when do you go back to normal? when are you ‘you’ again? even after years of so-called treatment, you could still be suffering from gender dysphoria (and if random people on the internet rejecting or criticising your identity sends you in a violent rage, maybe your mental state isn’t very stable lmao). if you were to be denied surgery or couldn’t afford hormones anymore, your dysphoria would come back. and even with all the surgeries and hormones in the world, you’re still a trans woman/trans man. you never actually become the opposite sex. you never reach your ideal because it’s unattainable.

Women have more prolactin due to (obviously) higher estrogen levels. Prolactin makes it hard to hold back tears when there’s an urge to cry. Sorry women aren’t “man enough” to not show their feelings. It’s physically so much harder to hold back tears than it is for men.

I would also like to note that women don’t “cry uncontrollably” in the way men think. It’s not random. It happens when she feels hurt, like a normal human being. It is “uncontrollable” in the way that, like I said, she has a harder time holding back tears.
