kind of obsessed with the characterization of jayce and viktor as fundamentally good people who will also go absolutely batshit insane if you separate them because theyre also ridiculously codependent to a degree that is concerning for everybody else's wellbeing. they were literally away from each other for a couple of months and almost ended the entire world

skeleton crew is great fun btw it won me over by the end of the opening sequence and it stayed good the whole way through. it picked a genre and fucking nailed it, much like andor did, but in the opposite direction for a different target audience and emotional impact. it's just actually quite fun and full of so much star wars love and lore. the young actors are all very charismatic, and the writing is tone perfect. it's got an actually interesting mystery that makes curious going forward. i've only had neel in my life for an hour and a half, but if anything happened to him, i would kill everyone on here and then myself, etc. the bar was on the floor and it's shot over it by a mile. so far, at least, but i'm feeling optimistic, which is weird.

deeply fascinated by these kids living in a peaceful suburbia on a seemingly equally peaceful planet, which is surrounded by something called the barrier, which makes the night sky look green and is thick enough that it obscures the stars, and so when they get up to space and see how many stars there are, they have no idea space actually looked like that. and then they travel through hyperspace for the first time and it understandably freaks them the fuck out. there is definitely something weird about this planet they live on, and i am all for the real horror story being this suburban bubble they live in that wants to shield its citizens from the wider galaxy.
