like how the fuck am i supposed to take this. did i get scammed or something? i’m also a poor ndn and i was trying to give support to someone who was in need and i got blocked for it.

it’s been a total of three months now and they’ve blocked me on tumblr, cashapp and venmo.

i’m at my wit’s end tbh and i feel like they did scam me because they post the same stories over and over (as seen in our messages, but they also frequently sent me cashapp + venmo requests after for things such as their grandma passing, which is what i had initially bought jewelry from them for)

update: i’m also seeing these jewelry pieces on google image search now, meaning that most likely they never even made them themselves -_- and they’re hawking the scams on twitter too. this is the very same medallion i tried to buy off them!

i gave them money, and they emailed me asking for more. then requested it via my paypal. i blocked them all, but i’m not going to bother trying to get the money back because i know paypal won’t do jack shit.

So, on Tumblr, I made this post about how white nerds can only relate to the experiences of people of color through a fandom lens. Harry Potter and Steven Universe make more sense to them than the lived experiences of people of color.

And then I heard argument that, like, “oh well it’s fiction, it’s supposed to help people relate to other people”

This is true in some regards. It’s great for children, and creators of color have used fiction in their work to talk about their experiences and demonstrate oppression. But constantly relating the experiences of people of color to elves and witches and aliens allows you to continue to dehumanize people of color.
