the thing is there's a ton of jmkl that's grotesquely out of character in ways that make me recoil but i'm used to seeing it so i can just sigh and move on. whereas when i go outside and see what people who ship them with other people are doing the shock is much fresher. like it shouldn't actually be surprising that people enjoy imagining that when jamil is saved from his terrible situation with kalim via dating leona or azul or floyd or their oc he will be Healed and stop being a chuunibyou diva bitch -- much as it isn't surprising that people enjoy imagining kalim reacting to the guy he thought was his best friend trying to murder suicide them by sadly distancing himself from jamil, even though that is textually not what he does because there's something wrong with him -- but i haven't spent as much time getting my head around it you know
