She pours you both a tall glass before taking the bottle to her white and gold leather couch and sets them on the table in front of it so she can fall back with a soft sigh of relief. Soon enough the two of you finish off the fancy bottle and you can almost feel your thoughts starting to slosh around your skull. Neve looks at the now empty wine bottle with a cute little look of disappointment and you start to think this is as good a time as any to start your goodbyes and thank her for the lovely night even if you agree it’s disappointing the wine’s all gone. As you begin to drag yourself to your feet her look shifts to you as she asks with barely hidden hope in her voice. “Oh! While you’re up would you mind grabbing us the other bottle I keep on top of the ice box? Please?”

You smile through a sigh, steadying your slight sway on the couch and nodding. “Who am I to deny a request from such a beautiful woman like yourself? But first if you could point me towards the bathroom I’d be quite grateful.” She giggles and points you towards a room just inside the hallway leading out of the room. “Thanks,” you smile and close the door behind you before splashing water over your heated face. Trying to reign in your racing and stumbling mind you can’t help but think back to the look she gave you when asking for the other bottle. You’re wine soaked imagination decides to be unhelpful and tries to figure out what she’d look and sound like asking for more of of you instead. Grabbing the bottle and the accompanying cork screw to open it, you return to the living area and take up a spot on the couch next to Neve rather than on the end. You pop the cork with ease and fill the glasses carefully though the scent of wine mixing with the sea air still clinging to Neve is making focusing on anything a little more difficult than normal. 

Before either of you realize much time has passed the second bottle is already half empty and your mind is as foggy as you think it’s ever been in a while.You shift your gaze from the bottle on the table to Neve who’s staring at you with a mix of what you think is worry and a touch of confusion. “What happened to your pretty face?” She asks as she tilts your chin up and to the side to get a better look at your new scar. 

“Oh nothin too bad, jus the knife that guy held ta me nicked me when he went down. I’m fine I promise,” You assure her with a slight slur in your words that didn’t seem to sway her worry. 

“It’s bleeding a littl from the drink, it thins your blood,” she leans up and presses a soft kiss to the cut. It was a very brief sting followed by the soft wet warmth of her lips that had any logical part left in your head shutting down. You turn back to face her and bring a hand up to caress her face, her eyes fluttering closed as she leans into your touch with a low happy sigh.
