Okay but netflix witcher really missed a trick with how they treated Eskel.
Eskel who was the closest thing Geralt had to a brother, also had a law of surprise who was a princess, and born under the black sun (hello comparison to Ciri and Renfri), a girl that he failed and resulted in the scar on his face.
Honestly just having some sort of heart to heart between Eskel and Geralt where Eskel makes sure Geralts doesn't repeat his mistakes and swears to help/protect Ciri to atone for his failures?
Hell he could still die, even protecting Ciri potentially, just maybe not by becoming an incompetent asshole and then its tears around the house.

This is just me venting about s2 of the witcher because if I dont I might go crazy so spoilers under the cut.
If anyone does read this they are just my opinions, you are welcome to disagree but these are some of my gripes about the show after just having finished watching it.
First off WHAT THE ACTUAL EVER LOVING FUCK did they do to my boy Eskel. That is not the character depicted in the book or game. They made him unlikable and seemingly incompetent from the offset when he's supposed to be soft spoken, applauded for his professionalism and Vesemir praises his reliabilty. I know its an adaptation but come on.
Also Vesemir seriously considering about making new witchers and also doing it all behind Geralt's back just felt so wrong to me and I can't believe was an actual plot. Plus I feel the reveal of Ciris elder blood was a bit early.
I also dont like how they added all the extra witchers just to give them no screen time or story and kill virtually all of them by the end. If they were serious about making new witchers having the original group of 5 from the books surely would have driven that point further that they need more of them instead of showing like 20 of them.
Another point, no hate to Paul, it was the dialogue as well, but I felt like Lambert was written a bit ott. I always took him as a blunt, insult you cause he likes you person but will always be there if you need him, but here he just felt like he was a bit cruel and blasé
Book spoiler - They took a part of Ciri's story and gave it to Yennefer which given her use of fire magic is fair enough but it's going to be a bit tiresome if they decide to repeat that whole arc again so like 🤷♀️
And what point did Cahir serve, he pretty much ended in the same place he started, still serves Nilfgaard so...
Also was I going crazy or did Geralt say Volus Meir chose Ciri so they could get to their home sphere? Does that mean every monster is going to try and find Ciri so she can send them home?
Next, what is up with the Tissaia and Vilgefortz relationship? Literally came out of nowhere and probably won't serve any purpose apart from she frees him at that scene
Also I thought the witchers were keeping Kaer Morhen secret after the pogram so why are they happily welcoming a bunch of whores who could easily bring a small army back to finish them, and how does Rience even know where Kaer Morhen is anyway?
I also just felt the Yen/Ciri relationship was too rushed by the end? I'm sure they'll try and establish it better next season but Yennefer sacrificing herself and declaring to help Ciri sounded like it was more for Geralt's sake than her helping Ciri which I'm sure is what it was supposed to be.
And they really had Phillipa appear as an owl for 99% of the season? Did they run out of budget or something?
Given they're planning 7 seasons I feel like they did the Emhyr reveal a bit too early but thats probably just me.
And the fact one minute Vesemir was so ready to kill Ciri, then help, then kill, then help just felt too flip floppity and not genuine?
I dunno I guess I just felt characterisations, especially for the witchers just weren't true to the original characters and just feels a bit shallow and the relationships surface level like a tell, don't show kinda thing.
Plus I know Henry wanted to talk more but I felt some of the dialogue was just a bunch of nothing and repeating the same thing a few times and just overall got a bit tired of it in some scenes.
And probably my final point for now, again probably just me, but I didn't really rate that fight scene in the temple of Melitele but 🤷♀️

So I didnt think the Loki finale was bad, just very lacklustre?
It was a nice introduction to Kang and I'm excited at all the concepts that can come with the multiverse opening up but I just felt the Kang aspect wasnt relevant to the show.
Wandavision and FATWS were about the characters, and the story was a big part yes, but it was almost secondary as it was to help the characters grow and step into who they were supposed to be. Loki just did none of that?
We've seen Loki grow over the series and its been very nice to see, but I felt the finale should have been emotional and impactful just to drive the point home of how Loki has changed, why they've changed and coming to forgive and love themself.
Honestly I wouldn't have been mad about a lack of Kang, I was fully expecting another Loki, maybe a nice climatic magic fight and then our Loki with an agent of Asgard theme forgiving himself, but still opening the multiverse and then through that introducing Kang.
But with this theres nothing? You take our Loki out of the finale and what changes? Nothing, and I think thats my issue with it, there was just too much filler for a finale and all to introduce a 2nd season, but with a different finale we only needed the one.
And now we have Loki whos come to trust others and accept their past actions get heartbroken, betrayed and (unintentionally) forgotten by the people closest to them and no doubt questioning themself and whether changing was worth it.
I just really hope we dont lose Mobius as a companion and Im hoping for something good in multiverse of madness.
Okay but maybe Mobius is evil because he was out here being one of the few people with Lokis trust and loyalty and giving the longest hug in MCU history and afterwards he straight up left, not a word, wave or even a look back, dude just peaced out
Me: Oh look, Loki gave a monologue about how love is a dagger and we've had Mobius give Loki daggers and be in the same frame as Lokis dagger during the hug, they love each other.
Also me: Writes a post about why I disagree with the Mobius is evil theory because it will lose some of the progress Loki has made by putting trust in people.
Also me: *sees post about how during the hug the dagger is on Loki's back and may represent Mobius back stabbing Loki at some point*
Because I love torturing myself, just thinking about how Loki was talking about betraying his family and his home and then later on Classic Loki and Alioth give off major Ragnorok vibes for Loki and Sylvie to fight for

the tva found classic loki bc he “got lonely” and decided to reunite with thor. before he even made it off the planet, he was arrested. loki and sylvie created a nexus event on lamentis when they found comfort in each other in the face of almost certain death. i’m convinced that the nexus events (concerning loki) are because they decide they don’t deserve to be alone, and are worthy of companionship. they go against the role of “misunderstood and isolated villain” that the timekeepers/sacred timeline expects them to fill, and are punished for it
dude it’s the fact that classic loki didn’t just conjure a life size replica of asgard - the place he dreamed of yet could never return to. it’s the fact that he added lightning and thunder, because he couldn’t envision his home without thor’s presence like a part of the very atmosphere, a part of the living, breathing soul of asgard. it’s the fact that, in recreating it, he also recreated and relived ragnarok and watched it fall once again. it’s the fact that he found glorious purpose in the face of annihilation, just like he did when he was younger
I've seen the Mobius is a Loki theory and the Mobius is the head of the TVA/helping whoevers behind the TVA but I just don't see it?
Like people say its only Lokis in that void but Loki said last ep that Lokis may lose but they survive. We saw the Eldridge drop in and its not Loki crew wiped out in seconds, plus Throg is there, so no I dont believe Mobius is a Loki and that he's studied them so long he did a bit of WWLD to survive as he did.
Plus this whole series has been about Loki learning to accept what he's done, who he is, and who he wants to be and among those things its through being able to genuinly trust people for the first time, namely Mobius and Sylvie. To then turn around in the last ep and have it so that Mobius was secretly using him/maybe against him even, this whole time, will undo quite a bit of the progress Loki has made towards accepting himself and the love/trust/safety of others.
