1. What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)?
Ooh, this is an interesting question. Mina is unique among my OCs as she started as a personality. A fairly vague concept of a character that floated in and out of various hyperfixations and fandoms. For the longest time, she only existed in my head. She became a solid character during my Obey Me days, gaining a definitive design and personality, and was then repurposed for BG3.

3. How did you choose their name?
I shamelessly stole the name from Dracula as Mina Harker was my favourite character. Something about how she stays strong, but doesn't hide that she's afraid, seemed fitting. Her full name Philomena has always been a favourite of mine and the meaning of 'Lover of strength' or 'Lover of the moon' suits her perfectly. 'Heath' comes from heather and heathland, which is commonly found on the moors and by the coast. It's a landscape that looks fairly unremarkable, it lacks bright flowers or towering trees, but it's unbelievably resilient— much like Mina.
9. Are they based off of you, in some way?
Of all my OCs, Mina is the one that is the most like me: even down to the pronouns. She started as a stand-in name for an 'MC' for Obey Me as I found it weird using my actual name. When I started to make her into a distinct OC, I gave her many of my own flaws as well as a few extra. She is a snapshot of me from a specific point in my life, but several degrees removed. As though she took a different path from a similar starting point. We're both shy, but it shows in different ways. We're both asexual lesbians, but her boundaries are different to mine. I'd like to think we share the same patience and selflessness, though she acts on it differently. She has taken on a life of her own, but she is the OC that is closest to my own heart.
Relationships between Vhaeraun and his worshippers may be a little more belligerent than most, but the big guy is always looking out for his little guys.

Hati and astarion are best frenemies. Muninn likes to see the best in everyone. Hati is skeptical of everyone around her family. So when astarion picked Muninn, hati didn’t like it at all. However by the time Hati came into the picture astarion had already fallen for the half fey. Eventually he showed Hati he would try his best to one day be what Muninn saw in him. ‘still Hati is salty on how astarion started the relationship and so while they are friends, they also tease and prank each other. ‘Muninn is typically the more dominant one but astarion was seriously just feeding from them when they accidentally fell over. Hearing hati come to investigate astarion made it look like way more.
as for the new jewelry on astarion. Eventually to walk in the sun again he makes a pact with Yue. He still has sunlight sensitivity and does burn like any other pale skinned person in the sun, it no longer bursts him into flames. So he got bat earrings both as a joke about his vampirism and because yue’s familiars are bats.

"character doing a c+ job of breaking the cycle of abuse" is such a crunchy dynamic forever. what if i'm giving my all to give you a better life than i had and i'm succeeding but "better" just isn't quite enough. what if my blind spots and deeply ingrained trauma and inexperience mean that you will be indelibly scarred by me despite my best efforts. what if my abuser's influence still bleeds through at times because i know nothing else. what if i go so far in the opposite direction to avoid it that i hurt you in ways i couldn't have anticipated. what if my undeniable love and unforgivable shortcomings came part and parcel with each other. what if your love and gratitude and resentment and pain came part and parcel too. what if we both knew you deserved better but i was all you had. what if we had to move forward and reckon with that. what then

"So, Mina", Wyll breaks the silence as his figure flickers behind the campfire.
"Yes?" she replies as she continues her attempt to flip the stone inside the campfire.
"What's the story of the maul?"
Mina flips the stone on its belly up. The stone had it coming. "Oh Betty Girl? Yeah she's my pal", she pats the handle under her as she sits on the flat side of her weapon, "I like a maul more than an axe because you can't break a wall with an axe without making it useless, you know?"
"That's very practical of you", Wyll agrees.
"You have your sting" Mina gestures to the rapier on Wyll's hilt, "I have my hammer. It's just a tool, right?"
"The hammer and the blade, it's fitting."
"I know right? Betty Girl has been with me a long time. Sentimental. I think I was somewhere in the Neverwinter Wood and I just got lost, you know? For about a month. Started talking to myself because I don't speak bird. Then I figured might as well find a target to talk to and it ended up being Betty Girl? Isn't that right, pal?" Mina looks down at her weapon. It doesn't respond because it does not have a mouth. "Yeah she knows."

5. Is there any significance behind their hair color?
Breoch's hair colour is the complete opposite of what a typical drow's hair should be because of his dragon great-grandfather. It's an outward sign that his family do not strictly follow Menzoberranzan doctrine.
Mina's hair is a dirty blonde. She's always been a blonde, but the specific shade is supposed to be more muted and not typically considered an 'attractive' shade. It's much more mundane.
Shrike's hair colour is reminscent of blood and fire, both of which have dual-symbolism of life and death.
Zeke's purple hair is a carry over from his previous iteration. The in-universe significance is that it's the colour his father chose for him.
14. If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be?
Breoch:
He will always act however you expect him to. Everything he does is poised, calculated and conducted to endear himself to others.
Despite his insight into others' behaviours, he has no self-awareness. He never introspects or reflects on his own actions. His gaze is always focussed outwards.
Shrike:
They are frugal with their words. Why use 50 words when 5 and a sharp blade gets the message across?
They express themself through their tail. Their tail will reveal their true feelings even when their face and words give nothing away.

19. What is the most recent thing you’ve discovered about your OC?
I've already answered for Mina here, so I'll answer this for the other three.
Breoch: Despite being over 200 years old, he's only woken up to an empty house once or possibly twice in his entire life. He's always made an effort to be around people; never allowing himself to be truly alone with his thoughts. The first time he woke up alone in a house was after his fiancé was murdered. He then moved back in with his family in the few months before he too was killed. Waking up alone again would send him right back to that morning of grief, the feeling of loss as sharp as it was then, and cause him to spiral uncontrollably.
Shrike: They will eat anything you put in front of them. It's almost as if they don't have a sense of taste and would just as readily eat meat on the verge of rotting as a platter of exquisite cuisine. Although as a bhaalspawn, they do prefer meat over vegetables.
Zeke: He has a supernatural sense of smell. As a partial devil and a bhaalspawn, his sense of smell is much more sensitive than most. The scents of the material plane are unfamiliar to him, so he notices them more. He once made Wyll blush by telling him that he "smelt like sunshine".

4. In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?
The Sword Coast and Faerûn are chock full of legendary heroes and powerful adventurers. Mina's defining character trait is that she always views herself as average in every conceivable way. So when thinking about her backstory, I wanted her to have a very modest start to her life. She is skilled, especially as a 'rogue', but it's a quiet unassuming expertise; skills that can be easily overlooked. It's against this backdrop of heroic legends that Mina is comparing herself. She'd rather sit in the wings and lend support whilst the 'real heroes' fight The Absolute. After all, what can a full-time seamstress and part-time spy from Waterdeep really do to help?
She also needed to have a reason why she was chosen by The Emperor to help its cause, which is why her skills of infiltration and her mission to find her fellow informants give her a reason to be selected in the first place.
12. What have you found to be most difficult about creating art for your OC (any form of art: writing, drawing, edits, etc.)?
Mina is a very solitary person, and I enjoy drawing short comics or characters interacting so finding the ideas to draw her can be a challenge. She's also the Tav that deviates most from the typical events, so I feel like I'd need to put more work into establishing her storyline before I can really share/create more stuff about her. I do have some ideas that I want to draw for her, but I'm not sure I have the skills to do it well yet 😅
18. What is the most recent thing you’ve discovered about your OC?
When I made the OC texts, I realised that Mina will never directly ask for something. Instead of saying "could you get 'X' for me please?", she would say "it would be helpful if I had 'X' for this", or "I need to get some more 'X' soon". She never assumes that people would be willing to help her, so is always surprised when people volunteer without being asked.
