As a huge Dreamhouse Adventures-verse fan, I have my iwb headcanons about the ages of the characters

But I wanna know yours! What age do you think are Badbie, Ken, "Brooklyn" barbie, Trey, and Barbie's sisters?

I had to dig deep on this and really analyze since we all know the timeline is super not clear in the show (thanks for making it difficult showrunners 🤦‍♀️ ).

So what I did is count the summers dating back from Dolphin Magic. And looking back at the events, there’s been a total of 3 summers in the vlogverse.

The first summer I believe is the introduction to the DHA-verse, where Barbie and her sisters went to a beach resort and met Isla (Dolphin Magic).

Dreamhouse Adventures and Princess Adventure takes place after Dolphin Magic so those events all happened in one year. Barbie and her friends are sophomores in High School during this time.

Chelsea’s Lost Birthday is legit the only time it is specified that a year has gone by… ergo Chelsea ages from 6 to 7. Chelsea’s birthday is in the Spring (March to be exact) so one year should have gone by since Dreamhouse Adventures.

Now we’ve reached a point where it gets a little confusing. Summer number 2 is when Barbie goes to Handler Arts Academy (Big City Big Dreams) since she got in on the summer talent program (or whatever it was called). After that it is implied on numerous occasions in the show that she spent a whole year in New York. So that must mean she continued after the summer program, and enrolled at Handler Arts for a full academic year, which must also mean that she did not spend her Junior Year of High School at Golden Beach High with her friends.

It Takes Two and Mermaid Power movie takes place directly after BCBD.

And obviously, summer number 3 is when Epic Road Trip and Skipper’s Babysitting Adventure took place.

Yes technically the ERT movie is loosely tied to the current events, but a road trip is canon because it was mentioned in A Touch of Magic (season 1).

So all in all, if we’re going by logic… Barbie, Ken, Brooklyn, and the rest of the Malibu squad should be 18 (or 19) years old already. And in A Touch of Magic season 2 they should all be in their SENIOR YEAR of High School and should be graduating soon.

Skipper should be 15 years old, (it wouldn’t make sense if she was still 14 years old in her babysitting adventure movie).

As for Stacie, aside from Barbie, her age isn’t clarified in neither the show nor the movies, but it is obvious that there is a considerable gap between her age and Chelsea’s, plus I think I read it somewhere before that Stacie is in the 6th grade so she could be either 11 or 12 years old. Lastly, Chelsea should be turning 8 soon.

Anyway, them aging isn’t really the point. Cartoons like these tend to have ambiguous timelines so they can stretch out the series for as long as possible. I wouldn’t be surprised if the gang are still teenagers in a couple years. That is until they decide to end the series and move on to another Barbie universe.

Lol yeah, kinda disappointing that Ken suddenly left to check on Trey. Like couldn’t he do that after the crowning ceremony??

As my gift to you guys, here is a list of what I’m expecting and hoping to see on Season 2 of Barbie: A Touch of Magic!!! 💝

I hope they actually interact and get focus, we don’t need them focusing on this out of no where crush instead 😔

Personally, I like this non-canon ship too thanks to you! But on a side note for me, I have to see them interact more. Preferably in a romantic sense, so that I’ll be more inclined to the idea of them to be together in canon as well.

And, I see very well their relationship working because they’ll be like this couple dynamic, which is one of my favorites. 👇👇👇

How do you think Brooklyn is going to feel about Tammy?

Oof Tammy better not try it, because Brooklyn will not hesitate. She will MANHANDLE her if needed 😤

It’s literally a “eff around and find out” situation

Malibu doesn’t fight back that much when it comes to Tammy and Trey. She just rolls with the punches.

Trey has always been a side character, even in Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures. He doesn’t have any real contribution to the plot moving forward. He’s just one of the storylines that supports the character development of Barbie. And now Brooklyn too.

I agree. Brooklyn is very kind, practical, and down to earth. She’s a no nonsense kind of girl.

Trey is full of nonsense lol. His character is in a moral quandary and I don’t think Brooklyn is going to make it her responsibility to keep pointing Trey into the right direction. Please the poor girl already has enough on her plate hahaha

I feel like changing Trey to be a good partner will take a LONG time so he’ll need someone who will be patient with him and be willing to put up with his sh*t without losing their sanity.

Uuugghhhhh, I had a feeling someone will ask me this eventually lololol ghasksllpwsksk 😂

Okay. Okay. Personally, I’m 50-50 about it. Neutral so to say. Like I don’t hate the Trey and Brooklyn plotline going on right now in A Touch of Magic but at the same time I’m not like “oh they look so cute together!” or rooting for them to be a couple.

And to be perfectly honest with you all, I don’t see it happening… like ever. I just don’t feel any chemistry between them. 😬

Why? Well for one, I don’t really ship characters together if one of them isn’t interested in the other (aka: the one sided love). Plus we’ve had only had one season of this plot point, so safe to say it’s still too early to tell if the writers will go all the way with Trey and Brooklyn (for all we know, this could be just a running gag for filler purposes).

And two, as much as I love my boy Trey, right now he doesn’t possess the qualities of a good partner. Sure yeah, as an individual he’s hilarious, sensitive, secretly has a good heart, and iconic in his own right. But as a boyfriend? Nope, not sure he’s a good one.

Of course, I won’t hold it against you if you ship them together. This is just my personal opinion.

If Brooklyn can change Trey’s attitude and help him develop endearing “boyfriend material” qualities… sure why not? Maybe it will convince me that this is a ship worth rooting for.

Karbie Headcanon #14

I have no doubt in my mind that Barbie Roberts is the literal queen of ✨ DENIAL ✨

Girlie would be so confused when she’s having these weird and unfamiliar feelings towards her best friend. What did it mean? Why was she getting butterflies in her stomach when he smiled at her? Why does her heart sink when he has other plans after school and can’t hang out with her?

Barbie would find so many excuses and push down her feelings as far as she could, but of course her efforts were futile. So she just decides to ignore those feelings altogether.

But when Ken decided to ask Harriett to the school dance, Barbie was crushed. She didn’t understand why emotions she’s never had before started building up inside her (disappointment, resentment, jealousy).

I could only imagine how painful it was for her to have to help Ken ask out his crush when she clearly wanted to be his date to the dance.

Luckily, that crush was a one-time thing and it quickly passed. Ken soon began showing where his deeper affections truly lie. Which was to Barbie. And he wasn’t even trying to hide it. His actions alone were so obvious, it screamed what he felt inside asdfghwlapxhaslsksk 😂

It was so obvious that of course Barbie noticed. Although, she’s kinda still in denial so she’d keep playing dumb and not acknowledge these “feelings” she’s having for Ken.

It gets harder to hide it though. Barbie listens to her heart so it was difficult to not follow it. She’s hesitant because Ken has been her best friend since they were 7 years old, he was basically like family. Someone she cared about and cherished a lot. She’d be devastated if things don’t work out between them and she loses their friendship. The possibility terrified her.

I can imagine Brooklyn being the one to knock some sense into her and tell her to stop pushing down her feelings. Brooklyn is blunt (as seen in Epic Road Trip) so she’ll definitely go straight to the heart of the problem.

And it works! Something clicks inside Malibu’s brain, like a missing piece of a puzzle finally falling into place. She’d be like “Oh god! It’s true. I do like Ken (in a “more than friends” way)

Barbie never saw Ken the same way after she realized. And from then on, she started acknowledging her feelings, eventually allowing herself to fall in love.

I need your honest opinion guys. Which direction do you think the series showrunners will take?
