Double dose of Matthew Goode and Tony Banks wearing a combination of a black t-shirt with jeans and trainers with a jacket.
The shots of Matthew in 2008 was around the time period he was promoting Watchmen and went to Comic Con. Casual modernism in each of the photos, and it reminds me of a late summer aesthetic, akin to my experiences in college when I was exploring the musical world of Tony Banks' solo LP Bankstatement at the time. Today, 14 August 2026, is the anniversary of the release of Tony Banks' LP Bankstatement. It's one of my favorite solo albums of his (my absolute favorite being A Curious Feeling).
In this photo session in September of 1989, Tony Banks models with his E-mu Systems Emulator III, which was used on the album in addition to the Emulator II sampler. Later, the EIII would be used on Genesis' album We Can't Dance for the "elephant" sample on No Son of Mine.
Additional gear used by Banks on Bankstatement includes: Yamaha CP-70 with Boss CE-1 Chorus NED Synclavier II SCI Prophet 10 E-mu Systems Emulator II E-mu Systems Emulator III Roland D50 Kurzweil K1000 (PX and GX series) Yamaha DX7 LinnDrum E-mu SP12 drum machine Roland TR-808
My favorite songs on the album include: - Throwback - I'll Be Waiting - Queen of Darkness - The Border - The More I Hide It - Thursday the Twelfth Both men win on the intense gaze department.
