‘I realized the meaning of the word happiness is just eating sashimi with him’

The way Yoongi looks at Seokjin. 

The fondness in his gaze. The softness in his features. The sometimes embarrassed, sometimes shy, sometimes gentle smiles at Seokjin’s antics. The visible respect he has for the older, the silent stares of understanding when Seokin is speaking…like idc if this isn’t a ship thing, idc if they’re just good friends or affectionate roommates or close group members considering their age…it’s just…it feels so special. 

The two oldest of the group, one of them loud, boisterous yet matured, kind and accepting in his own way while the other silent, attentive and a tsundere who deeply cares about his members just as much.. Idk about anyone else but this ship (romantic or platonic, either way) is just so tender and special…like, I’ll never ever question the fondness these two have for each other. Seokjin is literally the only who can put Yoongi in his place while Yoongi is like a silent pillar of support for Seokjin because the latter very clearly doesn’t appreciate being a burden to anyone even during his worst times. 

Their dynamics fit so well together like pieces of puzzle and tbh this is the kind of bond that lasts till the very end. They balance each other so well, Seokjin makes up for Yoongi’s probable lack of optimism while Yoongi offers him the serenity and calm he most definitely needs behind the closed doors of their room. I won’t go as far as saying that they probably understand each other the best but I am very certain that they have the kind of mutual understanding where the too long dragged silences don’t feel awkward and overbearing.

Like with that music show recording where it was later found out that Jjanggu had passed away, army there were reporting how different Jin was, but that Yoongi was also being super quiet. Which we saw that support when they did the dog episode of Run, where Jin was visibly much quieter than usual, and Yoongi and Jin were beside each other almost the entire time. And even when Jin went to sit off by himself, Yoongi was calling out positive things to him to make Jin smile.

There’s many other examples of Yoongi doing this, like that time Jin gave the speech crying how he was thankful army had helped make his parents proud of him, and when he finished you could see Yoongi just stepping a tiny bit closer to Jin.

Or when Jin got visibly flustered when he forgot what he was supposed to say in Chinese and Yoongi just rubbed his red ears and told him to take his time.

Yoongi saying Jin is the one he feels most comfortable with. 

On their “Her” album, in the hidden skit, the guys had discussed how they felt the burden of their rising fame. Namjoon brought up the fact that in some ways, it felt like they were acting. The others agreed, with Yoongi and Jimin adding that fans only saw their good image and positive side of things and even though they weren’t trying to be fake or deceive us, it was difficult at times.

This is why I think this show is a genuine attempt from BTS and Bighit to reveal the unfiltered, not so pretty side of their lives. Especially given how much success they’ve received in the past year, it’s easy to forget they’ve had struggles and rough patches throughout even though we do not see it. Most importantly, Bangtan have always valued being real with us, trying their best to convey their authentic selves despite being K-Pop idols.

This show will serve as a reminder to fans that everything about BTS is not so rosey; that they work incredibly hard to the point of extreme exhaustion, that they get tired of each other and argue sometimes and at the end of the day…Bangtan is human so not everything about them or their lives is perfect.
