At 08:00 hr Rosa was about 1015 km / 630 mi SW of the southern tip of Baja California. A continued northwestward motion is expected today, followed by a turn toward the north by Saturday night. By early next week, Rosa is forecast to turn toward the north-northeast and increase its forward speed.

Hurricane Rosa continues to intensify about 880 km / 545 mi WSW of Manzanillo Mexico and about 750 km / 465 mi SSW of the southern tip of Baja California peninsula. Rosa is moving toward the west-northwest near 17 km/h (10 mph).

Rapid strengthening is anticipated, and Rosa is forecast to become a hurricane later today and a major hurricane on Thursday. At 03:00 hr MDT (09:00 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Rosa was 755 km / 470 mi WSW of Manzanillo, Mexico. Rosa is moving toward the west-northwest near 10 mph (17 km/h), and this general motion is forecast to continue for the next two to three days.

Remnants of Nineteen-E depression dissipate over the Mexican state of Sonora. There is another system far south. An area of low pressure is expected to form in a few days well to the south of the southern coast of Mexico.

A tropical depression is likely to form by Tuesday while the system moves generally west-northwestward at about 10 mph.

A broad area of low pressure appears to have formed about 100 miles west-southwest of Cabo Corrientes, Mexico, however the associated shower and thunderstorm activity has not changed much in organization since earlier today. Although upper-level winds are only marginally conducive, some development of this system is possible over the next few days while the disturbance moves slowly toward the west-southwest away from the coast of Mexico.
