Rhaella abusing Viserys, Elia being a-okay with her humiliation and teaming up with Rhaegar to groom a teenager, Lyanna somehow being more prophecy obsessed than Rhaegar, elishara only being confirmed to whitewash Rhaegar’s actions, the Dornish being an orientalist mess, every single woman in this play being turned into a hysterical loco or being villainized in in order to uplift the men specifically absolving Rhaegar of any blame and sanitizing Aerys………turn this shit the fuck off

2. Elia is a mastermind schemer who was the one who suggested Rhaegar overthrow Aerys, and is working to secure power for House Martell. She views hers and Rhaegar's marriage as one of convenience, they have a cordial relationship, and he confides in her. He sometimes tells her about his dragon dreams, but she isn't keen on them, and instead urges him to be more pragmatic and politically minded. She is initially upset about the Lyanna Queen of Love and Beauty thing, but gets on board with it. She and Lyanna become pen pals while Lya is in the Tower of Joy, and Elia reveals she's on board with the whole multiple wives thing, comparing herself to Visenya, while Lyanna is Rhaenys.
3. Lyanna is a greenseer who saw the Ptwp vision. She and Rhaegar are in love, and they bond over the ASOIAF prophecy. At Harrenhal, Rhaegar sings The Song of Ice and Fire song in High Valyrian, which Lyanna recognizes, which prompts the two of them to bond over their shared magic dreams. They elope together, and are convinced their child will be Dany, and that she will hatch dragons (they saw her in a shared vision). Benjen helps them elope, knows they're in love, and knows Jon is their son
The play confirms they never actually got married, so Jon is born a bastard, and his name isn't Aegon like on the show (thank fuck).
4. Robert is a sympathetic character still grieving the death of his parents (he apparently has PTSD because of it). Aerys mocks him for it, and gifts him a toy ship which is just a box of splinters in water. Robert and Ned are close, and Lyanna doesn't hate him; she just loves Rhaegar so she decides to run away from the betrothal.
5. Elia and Ashara are lovers, and its implied Ashara is the love of her life. Ashara also has a relationship w Brandon, and her stillborn bastard is his.
6. Rhaella is absolutely broken because of Aerys' abuse. She and Aerys end up having sex on the evening of the red comet, and Rhaella proclaims a curse that if she should conceive a child this night, it won't be a son, but a vengeful daughter who will bring back dragons and destroy the kingdoms. Both Jon and Dany are conceived on the same night beneath the red comet (idk how this works cause the timeline is kinda fucked), so there's an ambiguity as to who the PTWP is.
6. Robert kills Rhaegar using a cheap shot. Rhaegar is fighting him, has a dragon dream/vision in the middle of the battle and Robert takes that as his opening to kill him. The death sequence is kinda brutal apparently
7. Aerys knows about Rhaegar's plot to depose him, and openly asks Rhaegar to kill him. Rhaegar hesitates, and Aerys laughs in his face.
8. Lyanna feels extremely guilty over the deaths of her father and brother, blames herself and clings to the prophecy as a coping mechanism to justify their deaths. She's more interested in it than Rhaegar, and is the one who gives him a pep talk when his belief starts wavering
9. Rhaella is an abusive parent to Viserys and cheers when Brandon/Rickard die (she's apparently just as mad as Aerys). Take this one w a grain of salt cause this one is not quite confirmed
I missed a few things, so for anyone interested in reading all the spoilers, here ya go.
Idk if this is cannon, or just an interpretation, or ASOIAF's version of the Cursed Child, aka cannon per the author, but so hated in the fandom, people outright dismiss it (the timeline for some of the things that happened doesnt make sense and a few characters got cut/merged with each other. JonCon doesn't exist for ex, and was merged with Oswell Whent. But this might be a case of the play condensing stuff to save on budget, and/or playing w the idea of unreliable timelines)
But if it is, well, some of this stuff makes sense, and the rest is just disappointing, but as much as I hoped George wouldn't fall into the classic fantasy hero is the obvious chosen one trope, I'm not particularly surprised he would cause the book was started in the 90s. And for all the ambiguity about who the PTWP is, Rhaella's comments negate that wholesale, cause they position Dany as Paul Atreides aka the false savior destined to destroy the country while Jon is the genuine prince (I also saw some comments about Dany morphing into Arya in one of the visions in the play, lending credence to the idea Jon will kill her to protect Arya. I'm not sure where this came from, cause it was not in the twitter leaks, so I'll just leave it as a speculative possibility). Eh, at least the Elia/Ashara/Rhaegar/Lyanna polycule is fun 😂
Man, I'm not surprised that George is stuck; he really needs to go back to the drawing board if he wants to tie all of this together for it to make sense in the books.
