I loved the last chapter, even though it really tore me apart. I have to admit I was hoping for a little brown-haired baby between Valarr and Aerea, but the gods are cruel (oh, Bloodraven, may you burn in the seven hells). Your writing is incredible; I want to congratulate you on how well you capture emotions, especially Aerea’s anguish. I, too, have experienced periods of great anguish and depression, and I’ve been in a family situation that made me feel isolated and alone—but on top of that, guilty and despised by others. I have to tell you that reading about what happened to Aerea almost made me feel like that teenager again, so it’s a very well-crafted piece. I know I should hate Aerea a little more, but you do an incredible job with her. She’s an unusual victim—a revictimized one—but she can also be cruel and hateful, which makes the people around her, and even us, start to question just how much of a victim she really is in this situation. I think that’s what keeps her from being a flat or one-dimensional character; she has her nuances, and I hope her healing journey will soothe the heartbreak this chapter left me with.
P.S.: I’d love a POV from Valarr during his final moments—I don’t know if you’re planning that, but it would be great, even if it’s just to suffer a little more. Also, I know they’re keeping it a secret in the chapter, but was there any way Valarr could have found out about Aerea’s pregnancy? And a few more questions—clearly hypothetical at this point. Would Valarr and Aerea’s baby have been a boy or a girl? What do you think the baby’s name would have been? Would the baby have gotten along with Mae? And do you think Aerion’s dynamic with Aerea would have changed drastically if, upon his return, he’d found her with a child by Valarr?

First off, big hugs to you. No one should have to experience trauma, and especially by family.
And second, I'm glad it resonated. I deliberately made Aerea this way, because there's no such thing as the perfect victim. Just a regular person, struggling with stuff.
Trust me, I deliberated long and hard on the Valera baby, and made this decision quite reluctantly mostly to preserve the continuity of the fic. Its painful, but it had to happen, even though I knew folks wouldnt like it.
Now onto the hypotheticals! The kid is a boy (Aerea mentions it in the chapters). She named the kid Aenar, after Daenys the Dreamer's father, because she wanted him to symbolize hope for a better future. Unfortunately, there was no way for Valarr to find out. The only person who would know is Bloodraven, but he wasn't about to tell him shit. Besides, its probs better that he didnt. He already had two stillborns, tacking on another would have been way too much tbh.
As for Mae, yeah, that relationship would have been contentious. If by some miracle, the kid did end up staying at Summerhall, he and Mwe would have been rivals, cause Mae would have seen him as the favorite child, and resented him for the attention.
Which arguably would have made the Aerion thing a whole lot worse, cause ain't no way he can just ignore a bastard.

I have so many fic ideas but don’t know where to start. My OCs would be such good characters, but I would be scared to not write them as I imagined them.
Start with a one shot. Pick a concept (my OC goes to a tourney and meets someone, or OC does something unusual etc). Starting simple is usually a good way to help develop your OCs, figure out their voice, personalities, and how they would fit into the world you want to write. And don't be afraid of them not turning out how you pictured them. Part of good character development, IMO is your characters sometimes changing in ways you didnt expect cause the plot you wrote made them so.

Imagine this: Aerea walking into a room and accidentally stumbling upon Aerion & Daenora fucking in THEIR marital bed. Maybe Daenora even says something a little cocky to Aerea while Aerion is inside her….
You said that Aerion and Daenora will have something and there’s a chance they will… crack, and also said that Daenora will have black hair, but I’m quite confused, isn’t Aerion a Targaryen purist? Who thinks real Targaryens should look like him and Aerea?

I think Papa Maekar realizes not only that Aeria isn't in the right state of mind to be lectured, but also that she’s suffered enough, after her recent breakdowns, the pregnancy, and the deaths of the baby and Valaar, all happening at once, she’s endured a lifetime’s worth of suffering. I even think this "symbolizes" a form of atonement, and I hope she realizes that herself. All types of shit might be going down with Aerion and King's Landing, but she has already suffered enough.
Yep, exactly this. I think he realized that all his scolding brought her to this point, and that doing it more was not the right option. So he decided to redeem himself and try parenting as he should have been doing it from the first.
If Valarr and Aerea got married somehow, what would Aerion do, or what would his reaction be?
This is sort of the subject of one of my AU's, which I'm going to turn into a two parter. Pt1, is Valera elope and get married in secret, and get a sort of HEA.
However, pt 2 will cover Aerion and his retaliation, in which he sort of maybe kills Valarr and kidnaps Aerea. Though you'll have the option of reading these two AUs as standalones (as in, you can treat pt1 as the Valera HEA where nothing bad happens after, and the Aerion one as the bad ending), you will also be able to read them as two parts of the same story.

Wow, you cast Ekaterina Vilkova as Aeyrea's face?! I'm honestly shocked, but yes, now her face is associated in my head with Aeyrea's face, and on top of that — her voice! Her voice has that necessary steel and sternness, but you can also see the tenderness. Just like Ekaterina herself — she can be strict and reserved, while actually being gentle underneath. Hell, she even played a girl in one comedy who had an unstable psyche but tried to keep it all inside, she was a strict boss, but in certain moments she'd open up as a caring friend, a gentle girl. And her reputation was also ruined because of a few of her breakdowns! I'm drawing some parallels with Aeyrea — well, more like Ekaterina's acting with Aeyrea — you accidentally hit the bullseye for my imagination!! Now when I read, in my head Aeyrea will even have specific facial expressions lol!! It was hard to visualize Aeyrea's breakdowns in my head, how they happen, and it kinda turned into a mess, but now it's all good, I know what it could look like.
This was a total accident. I was looking up people who sort of resemble my OG cast for her, Gemma Ward and Ekaterina just kinda popped in. Glad she fits
