He didnt actually. He was telling the truth. At the point the affair started, he didn't know Kiera was pregnant. She kinda hid it to not jinx it, because its common for early pregnancy to end in miscarriage.

She told him basically after Aerea exorcised him from her room, which played into his decision not to go back. He gave in, because she tried to leave and he freaked out he might lose her.

I don't know if you will follow canon and she will end up with Daeron or with another character, but the poor girl needs someone that actually cares about her and doesn't use her like Valarr and Aerea.

One of the downsides of a story that's not finished is that I can't discuss all the plot points and themes I mean to include because they would massively spoil the fic.

But no, I want to emphasize that no, this is definitely not the direction I'm heading. Yes, I will be discussing the issue of stillbirths and how women often get blamed for them, but my intention isn't to say yeah, Kiera is to blame here and everything will be fine and dandy when he gets with another.

Like I can't even BEGIN to emphasize how much its NOT what I'm going to do. But I can't say more because that would frankly spoil the very end of the Valarr arc, and a good chunk of the fic itself.

And yes, it will. Kiera will marry Daeron at some point, and will have a very happy ending; with her canonical daughter.

I've been neglecting my Masters and just lagging at my job in general (I desperately need to find smth else, this is draining me completely), and writing is basically my coping mechanism to support my mental health while i save up money to quit (and go on vacation 😂).

How do you write so quickly?? I am honestly in awe. 10k words in 5 days???? That's crazy. wow.

And I loooovvvveddddd the chapter. I really like how you put so much care into little details like Valarr breaking his arm ( there was a mention of it in Area's wiki).

Listen up, I'm about to reveal the most well kept secret of writing quickly:

Inspiration!

I'm not kidding. If I have inspo I can knock out 5-7k words a day (provided i don't do anything else, and focus entirely on writing. I also write on my phone so it's easy to multitask and write on the go). But if I'm not inspired, oh man. Writing feels like pulling teeth (see my other fics where I'm updating once every few months 😭)

But yes, I'm lucky I had inspo to finish the chapter and have inspo for Cleaved in general, otherwise, you'd be seeing me once every full moon lmao

(Also, don't do this if you have other obligations. No joke, I've been slacking off on my irl stuff cause I've been so obsessed with writing. 😭)

I'll do you one better; I got a bachelor's in English linguistics and lit. I'm doing a masters in lit rn, and have been writing for almost 20 years.

Though I would never dare suggest my work is anywhere near any legitimate professional level (you should check out @bridalshowerss for something really remarkable. Homegirl used Marxist theory as a theme in one of her chapters which is just... I can't, absolute cinema), I am glad I'm using my useless degree for something truly important: writing smut on Ao3 😂😂😂😂
