Thor Battles Jörmungandr One sign for the coming of Ragnarök is the violent unrest of the sea as Jörmungandr releases its tail from its mouth and thrashes its way onto land. Fenrir will set ablaze one half of the world with fire while Jörmungandr sprays poison to fill the skies and seas of the other half. Fenrir and Jörmungandr will then join the sons of Muspell into the plain of Vigrid. Here is where the last meeting between the serpent and Thor is predicted to occur. Thor will become occupied with battling the serpent and is unable to help others as they fight their own battles. He will eventually kill Jörmungandr but will fall dead after walking nine paces, having been poisoned by the serpent’s deadly venom.

Thor: There was one time when we were children, he transformed himself into a snake, and he knows that I love snakes. So, I went to pick up the snake to admire it, and he transformed back into himself and he was like, “Yeah, it’s me!” And he stabbed me. We were eight at the time.

I’m not doing inktober this year but I can’t help falling into other challenges, and I loved doing this one! The #monalisachallenge is, as you can guess, when you make your own version of the famous smiling lady. I went for an old-school tattoo version, an animal version because I do a lot of animal art, can’t deny it, and a steampunk version, that might or might not be related at all to Panic! At The Disco… the wolf and steampunk ones are available on my Etsy.

I’m incredibly happy to have been a part of this wonderful project that is The Fat Zine, a paper zine curated by fat people, for those who want to really hear what we have to say instead of discussions about fatness through the lens of a fatphobic society.

Even though I did paint that self-portrait a while ago, I had not had the guts to publish it yet, and the Fat Zine was the perfect opportunity. Reading many essays and memoirs of fat women saying that, like me, they hate to be touched, was a turning point. For many of us, we don’t like being touched, not because we’re fat, but because our boundaries were not respected. And not all of us, but I’m willing to bet, more than we can imagine, tend to subconsciously use our fat as a blanket, a bubble wrap to shield our bodies from the outside world. I painted this piece just for myself, as a way of personal growth, and I’m very grateful to know it resonated with the folks making the Fat Zine, and for it to be shared to people who will approach the topic, if not with a knowing eye, at least a benevolent one.

“FLUFFY COLLECTION”

I recently launched a new series of tiny kraft sketchbooks on my Etsy store, hand decorated with the fluffiest creatures I could think of. For the occasion the very few remnants of the previous Black and White collection are on sale.

Hello witches! I just wanted to doodle some random stuff, practice horsies, just unwind, I swear… but I fell in love with those designs so I had to complete them. Now I need to decide which ones I’m gonna buy from my own redbubble shop because let’s face it, I won’t be able to resist, and I’ll pretend it’s for my daughter but we all know the truth…

Throwback to my first trip at the zoo after lockdown was lifted in France. This place is really becoming my safe space! Nothing charges my batteries better than drawing gorgeous creatures in a roofless area.

What good is learning to draw canids if you don’t use that knowledge to paint Eeveelutions? Care to tell me who’s your all-time favorite? I’m torn between Vaporeon and Jolteon but Glaceon is lovely too, might be the heat wave talking…  

I learned that Vilgefortz from The Witcher, and Ahmad from the show Marco Polo, both played by actor Mahesh Jadu, were contemporary (or, would have been if Vilgefortz actually had existed in real life), and I don’t know how to deal with such information, so I just... had to? I just can’t with the powerful crossover that would be!
