Your Favs as Bacteria

As the title suggests, this blog takes characters and decides which bacteria they would be if they were bacteria!! These are all opinions and just for fun, please don’t take to too seriously.

Please send me asks with characters you like!! (And all sorts of other asks are welcomed too!)

I will do bacterial headcanons of things that are not characters, particularly if it's funny.

Characters will be tagged in the order “first name, last name” such as “Teru Minamoto” ✅ as opposed to “Minamoto Teru” ❌

Bacteria will be tagged with the full genus name included, such as “Escherichia Coli” ✅ as opposed to “E. Coli” ❌

This blog is run by a teenager (he/him) with an interest in bacteriology, but I’m not a proper scientist and I have no training or degrees or anything, so please don’t count me as an authority.

Anything that is NOT a bacterial headcanon will be tagged as #not hcs

Some (not all) bacterial headcanons will include fun facts! They will be tagged as #fun facts

If some information in a fun fact for a hc doesn’t seem to have a source, or the source(s) linked to in the fun fact part don’t cover some of what is said, then the relevant source for that information is the Wikipedia page linked when you click the big green name of the bacterium!

FUN FACT: Elizabethkingia meningoseptica has been found on the roots and leaves of bago trees in Malaysia! I’m not sure how this would relate to Hornet, but I thought it was cool.

FUN FACT: I haven’t played Deltarune yet, but from what I’ve read, it seems like Kris is a very quiet person in most situations, but they are actually very eccentric in many ways, enjoy pulling little pranks sometimes, and are very strong when fighting! Heliobacter pylori infects the stomachs of over half of the population globally. While it can cause serious illness, the vast majority of people are asymptomatic. (Which means you’re almost certainly safe!) I’d argue infections being mostly asymptomatic could be analogous to how Kris is a quiet person, but not devoid of personality — When heliobacter pylori does cause serious illness, it can bring about many kinds of gastric disorders and further complications beyond that. But once again, please don’t stress over this! Even if you do have heliobacter pylori in your stomach, developing serious illness is RARE, and if you do begin to experience symptoms, they are treatable!
