i love these stupid motherfuckers. this ugly ass paint scheme is shown off exactly once, in the 4th ed chaos codex, no lore, just a name (the disciples of destruction) and this godawful scheme. and i love it so fucking much.

I reckon the name's accurate: if you haven't fallen in love with this beast by halfway in, you're wasting your life. And oh, she is beautiful. The Exorcist was the highlight of the old range and this new one is a work of art.

There's so much going on here: the pipe organ, the rockets, so many icons, the keyboard, and even fresh-cut flowers on the altar. That tread with the rose and crossed swords? Only one on the whole vehicle.

I know the Brits get real touchy about Warhammer being THEIRS AND THEIRS ALONE, but the Battle Hymn of the Republic makes such a great anthem. It's an abolitionist creation, but you'll be hard pressed to find a holy war hymn that sounds better on the pipe organ. If we're driving a mobile pipe organ into battle(typically they are a part of the architecture), we're not taking half measures.

The box art is ridiculous. Why bury all those details in flat black?

I left off the cherubs and Holy Vuvuzela. I needed parts for my original Exorcist rebuild and brother, they were made to snap off in transit.

Look at this cockpit:

That keyboard! The hands in position to hit a chord! Who knows what those hatches in the deck are for?

I just want to point out another detail here: those roses below the icons. When 'Eavy Metal was putting this together for the box art, they painted over them to make them part of the bas relief. They are cowards and have undersold some details that serve the High Church/brutal war machine dichotomy that defines the Sisters.

Jubals corruption is one of my favorite parts of the horus heresy books, its pure nightmare fuel. I love the times when chaos reared its head, before they fully knew what chaos was. it was always so eerie and sudden, out of nowhere this grim space opera, transforms into a horror movie, with no explanation!

It's bad enough that this Cadian Kill Team stole the role of a potential Catachan Kill Team, but now they're up for pre-order next week, but The Red Terror (which shared a release box with them) is nowhere to be seen.

Between the Kasrkin and the Brood Brothers kits, Cadians are well covered on the Kill Team front. Not to mention the huge range refresh they got not too long ago.

And now Cadians get ANOTHER kit.

Meanwhile, Catachan has been stuck with this since 3rd edition; I used to have a Catachan Guard Army with these models when I was like, 17 years old... I'm 44 now!

Get a load at how poorly the lasgun bit lines up with the weapon's stock; this screenshot is from the GW webstore. You can look it up yourself. Not even the professionals can assemble this kit without issues.

The Lasguns come separate to the arms, and whole; you have to cut off the Lasgun's stock and pistol-grip so that it can be replaced by the stock/pistol-grip sculpted on the arm/hand. With no indentations sculpted into the flakk jacket on the torso to accommodate the Lasgun, you're hard pressed to get it to line up straight.

That's how it was done back in the late 90's/early 2000's; we just had to raw-dog it and modify the kit, right out of the box to make it work.

And if you want Catachans, you still do; at a cost of 60 bucks for the privilege.

Look! They're so embarrassed by this old kit, that the model they show in the thumbnail on the app is from the Command Squad (which came out a few years later).

Good luck building a Guard Infantry squad using the Catachan Command Squad kit lol.

A Kill Team set where a squad of Guardsmen go up against a big Tyranid gribley would have been the perfect opportunity to release a Catachan Devils Kill Team/Catachan Jungle Fighters Infantry Squad, duel kit.

I finished this Orbital Station yesterday for my Battlefleet Gothic collection.

Really enjoyed working on it, the miniature was fairly simple so I added some small details to it such as the extra antenna arrays and the central communications spire.

For the colour scheme, I wanted it to stand apart from the ships of my Imperial fleet, so I chose to paint the main hull in a space/naval grey.

This was inspired by a classic BFG showcase in an old Citadel Catalogue, depicting an amazing scratch built version of Port Maw by Chad Mierzwa (as seen in the last picture).

The grey colour for the hull is a little homage to that awesome piece, and I had fun picking out the details in metallics, as well as the running lights/observation domes and hangar bay entrances to match those on my Imperial Fleet.

Some of the fleet can be seen in the last few pictures, docking with and manoeuvring around the orbital station.

Overall I’m really pleased with the finished result, and it will make a great little thematic addition to my BFG collection.
