Red Dress by BirdyQueen (50k, M, complete)

First long fic I read for The Pitt, probably one of the best known Barantos fics, and for good reason. It's a 'wrong number' AU, where Trinity receives a text from an unknown number containing a photo of a woman turned away from the camera wearing a red dress. Well known for a reason, this fic is delightfully fun and sweet, with dashes of necessary drama.

I'm on Fire by earthprincess (46k, E, in-progress)

Another hugely popular Barantos fic. Basically, Trinity draws Baran in by being a brat. This fic is a lot more than that, but that's a huge part of it. Al-Hashimi is bossy, a little possessive, but also deeply caring and Trinity falls into an interesting new charged dynamic with her that continues to evolve through the fic.

INCREDIBLE fic, an instant favourite of mine. All these fics are incredible, but for me this one just hits all the best notes. Trinity, in the spur of the moment, offers to watch Baran's son so Baran can join the Pitt staff on a night out. A slow, tender spiral of gradually entangled lives ensues. Amazingly well written, the dialogue is incredible, it's tender, funny, and just a little bit devastating. Cannot recommend enough 

Unknown Number by focusonmila (33k, M, in-progress)

Unknown number texting AU! Trinity gets a text from a stranger telling her her number was written in a bar bathroom stall along with a note saying 'Are you a therapist? If so, call #. She needs one!' This fic is a mixed media fic alternating between chapters of text conversations and traditional prose. It's crack, so you have to be okay with some suspension of disbelief and tweaking of character personalities, but this is fanfiction, and fanfiction for a pairing that I can be argued demands a level of disbelief regardless, so once you settle into it it's an absolute joy. 

so forgive me if i jump (at the rattle of your keys) by Bugsquads (53k, E, complete)

Amazing, amazing fic that creates a unique and memorable plot. The inciting incident of this fic is traumatic and involveds drugs and gun violence, just a heads up, but coming through that and learning how to cope after is a main theme of the fic. Baran and Trinity experience a truly awful day at work, and find that sometimes you just need a person who understands before you can start to heal. Simply cannot recommend this fic enough.

idle worship by sapphic_thots (44k, M, in-progress)

God this is another incredible one. I sound like a broken record but that's truly just because these authors are so freakishly talented. Robbie has just left on his sabbatical, and on the way to work several hours early the next day, Trinity passes Al-Hashimi asleep behind the wheel in the parking lot. An impromptu breakfast and the 24 hour diner across from the hospital leaves Trinity feeling unmoored, and questioning the people she's put her faith in. An indulgently slow burn, absolutely decadent.

behind the red in my eyes by Dinosauntor (103k, not rated, in-progress)

I'll be honest, I started this one and got to where it was at that point and am now behind, but I remember that it is fantastic. New attending Dr. Al-Hashimi takes a special interest in R2 Trinity Santos. No one is sure what to make of the dynamic, but there's definitely something there. Lots of tension and weird (positive) flirting in this one. Characterization, especially for Al-Hashimi, is different from the show, but internal to the story it works.

kiss it better, baby [series] by wh1temustang (17K, T-E, 3 completed works)

The first two works in this series are shorter, the first following Trinity and Baran after that first day, deciding they could both use some company and discussing what they've learned about each other in that long, chaotic first shift. The second follows Trinity having a rough day at work curtsey of her chronic headaches, and Baran noticing things, like the fact a certain surgical resident seems to know a lot about Trinity. Third one is longer and has a different vibe, but it also has a kitten being rescued by Trinity and adopted by a reluctant attending, so I am not complaining.

Double Shift by BirdyQueen (22k, G, in-progress)

A return of another one of my favorite authors (seriously if you want more fics that aren't on this list just check out the authors, I guarantee other fics my them will also be bangers.) After finding out the kid she corralled from wandering around the ER is Al-Hashimi's son, brought to sit in the break room while his mom is unexpectedly stuck working a double, Trinity offers to babysit. Cue Trinity, Whitaker, Al-Hashimi's lives becoming rapidly enmeshed thanks to a sharp, sweet, adorable kid. Big Whitsantos sibling vibes in this one, huge bonus for me personally (and everyone else honestly, who doesn't love Whitsantos sibling-ism.)

one look, dark room by m_oliverfan (10k, not rated, complete)

A one-shot of all time for me, honestly. Trinity, on a night out at the bar, takes the opportunity to toss her drink on an entitled man when she notices him badgering a woman who has made it clear she isn't interested. After a refreshing conversation at the bar, Trinity and Baran strike up a friendship, with the only rule being that, thanks to both having stressful jobs they'd like a bit of an escape from, they don't talk about work. This fic is cozy, sweet, and brilliantly paced and written. The kind of fic that somehow managed to instill a cozy feeling adjacent to nostalgia.

the seven ex-lives of dr. trinity santos by zeniksnina (9k, T, complete)

The format of this fic is a bit of a departure from the norm, as it takes place on Reddit. Reddit discovers that niche gymnastics celebrity, Trinity Santos, who left gymnastics suddenly after qualifying for the Olympics, might now be a hot doctor at an ER in Pittsburgh? A mostly Trinity focused fic with sprinkles of Barantos, I love this fic so much. Another author who nails internet speak and vibes.

Melt in the Oven of the Mouth by cheekylittlelezzer (40k, E, in-progress)

When I say I can't get enough fics about Barantos stumbling into becoming a family unit with Baran's son I MEAN IT. This one, on top of being adorable, is also HOT. Trinity starts helping Baran out with babysitting, except Trinity is also sometimes a shameless flirt. There's no harm in it, as long as that's all it is. (Baran does make a valliant effort to keep it that way, really she does.) This is one of the fics that RAPIDLY became a favourite of mine.

wet teeth, shining eyes by sapphic_thots (5k, T, complete)

Trinity is great with kids, as much as she might deny to enjoying working with them, and that is no exception when a little boy comes into the hospital with an injury from soccer camp. What she doesn't know, though, is that this little patient happens to be her attending's son, and that in this case patient rapport might also earn you the world's tiniest wingman. This is not just one of my favourite short fics, it's just a favorite, period.

Pretty Lady with the Green Eyes anonymous (7k, M, in-progress)

Very new fic, it only has two chapters so far but I was instantly entraputed by the world this fic is forming. Trinity has a yellow lump of a rescue dog named banana bag, and while walking him in the park one day ends up encountering a little boy having a rough time. The writing of this fic is so charming, and the characters unique to this fic already feel alive in a way that is rare to establish so early in a story. All my fingers and toes are crossed for more chapters of this fic.

Abandoned Mines by BirdyQueen (2k, T, complete)

Super short, chaotic, delightful little fic. Trinity and Whitaker are trying out some urbex on their day off, and Trinity ends up in the ER as a patient, being treated by Dr. Al-Hashimi. The painkillers loosen her tongue, to hilarious effect.

strangelove by dilfmckay (5k, T, complete)

Established relationship/5+1/secret relationship fic. Five times Baran and Trinity are almost caught, and one time they are. A short, fun fic.

You Taste like a Reason by TheGayBaker (6k, M, complete)

Trinity gets sucked into Mother's Day plans with Baran and her son. A cute little fic, cozy, a great short read.

Last Minute Babysitter by AmmeDead (8k, G, complete)

Just a really cute little fic about Trinity babysitting Baran's son. Can you tell I'm a sucker for those fics? (But also, like, can you blame me?)

What if? by garbarsantos (17k, E, re-upload in-progress)

A fantastic, relatively well known fic in the process of a re-upload and it is EVEN BETTER than the amazing story it was before. Trinity runs into Baran at a gay bar, and after a night of growing closer from coworkers to friends, things continue to special from there. Even if you read this fic when it was originally posted, I highly suggest checking out the re-upload, it was a great fic before but the dialogue especially has gotten even better.

the morning after never ended by garbarsantos (30k, E, in-progress)

I'm not actually up to date on this fic, but I've read the first few chapters and garbarsantos is amazing, so still highly recommend. Fic takes place two weeks after Trinity and Al-Hashimi hooked up, and Al-Hashimi is avoiding Trinity as best as she can after her lapse in professional judgement.

McVadi: 

to be good by castlesprod (7k, E, complete) 

I've seen dialog from this used in a McVadi fan edit and honestly. . . impeccable. Who doesn't love some good old McKay guilt? Victoria goes to McKay after a shift looking for company and comfort and to get away from the pressure of her family, and the relief of finally being seen and listened to brings up certain other feelings that both McKay and Javadi know they shouldn't indulge. . . 

new dog old tricks by overnights (23k, E, complete)

I have a few fics by overnights on here, but honestly check them all out, they are all so worth it. This one is Javadi seeing McKay at a lesbian bar, flirting with a woman not much older than Victoria, and the discovery shifts Victoria's world on its axis. Victoria is just as witty, blunt, and fiesty as she should be. And also as obsessive. 

class of 2013 by soupishie (17k, E, complete)

After finding and comforting a distressed Javadi, McKay finds out about Garcia's 'nepo baby' comment to Victoria, and her reaction is more revealing than she intended. Garcia, not one to pull punches, pointedly questions where this level of reaction is coming from, leaving McKay and Javadi to reckon with the unspoken thing that underlies their dynamic. I, personally, THRIVE on guilty/rage filled McKay. People need to let that woman lash out more often, honestly. Fantastic fic.

Hanging On the Telephone by potbears (25k, E, in-progress)

I'm not gonna lie, even just thinking about this fic makes me blush a little. This is a fic that earns its rating, and does it in spectacular fashion. Victoria has a massive crush on McKay, but can't figure out for sure if she's misreading things on McKay's end. Unfortunately (or fortunately) for Victoria, Trinity has picked up on her infatuation with McKay and teases her incessantly, only making Victoria more worked up. McKay doesn't seem like she's going to do anything about it, but Trinity is more than willing to help.

after all, it was a great big world by anonymous (17k, E, complete) 

A McVadi fic of all time, for me. A scrumptious combination of Cassie McKay guilt and Victoria Javadi tenacious brattiness. Cassie and Victoria are friends, and Cassie is good at convincing herself that it's very normal and appropriate. . . except that's a lie and she absolutely knows it. One of the tags is 'psychologically torturing your boss into taking your virginity' and that is both hilarious and a great summary of the fic. Importantly, between everything else, the fic is also enchantingly tender.

Crush by lalisctrl (11k, E, complete)

AU in which Cassie is machanic, and Victoria is her son Harrison's teacher. Although this is a shorter multi chapter fic, it is one of those that is so seamlessly executed that it feels much longer than it is, in the sense that it creates a whole world with well developed characters and a full plot that stick with you. I love this fic.

wicked games by allrotted (16k, E, complete)

This fic might not be everyone's cup of tea and that's valid, but it's also so so so good. Read the tags to know if it's something you're comfortable/interested in reading. Cassie McKay meets Eileen Shamsi in the supermarket, and the two wind up in a comfortable, if not exciting relationship, and it's nice. . . until Cassie meets Eileen's sharp, independent, brat of a daughter. (Yeah, like I said, not everyone's cup of tea, but if you're looking for something that knows it's fucked up and still goes full in. . . this fic excels at that.)

Pulling Strings by motor_mouse (14k, M, complete)

Victoria has been feeling increasingly strangled by the puppet strings controlling her life. She tries to loosen her binds on her 21st birthday, and it ends up drawing her closer to Cassie McKay. My summary isn't doing it justice, but it really is a good fic.

Everybody Works by Femslashordie (44k, M, in-progress)

OBSESSED with this fic. CRIMINALLY underrated  fic. To be honest, I initially skipped over it to because the premise didn't sound like my thing, but oh boy am I glad I went back and tried it anyway. It's a 'yachtie' AU, where Cassie is the new bosun aboard a ship staffed by all our favourite characters. It's a heavy ensemble fic, with each chapter having a different character's POV. The world and setting built in this story is PHENOMENAL, I genuinely cannot speak highly enough of this fic. 

Crashtos:

star six seven by overnights (12k, not rated, complete)

What did I say? overnights writes great fics! This is an absolutely hilarious Crashtos mixed media AU, where Victoria is forced to take over the official Twitter page for The Pitt after her TikTok is revealed to HR. The fic nails internet speak and humour, and there are countless easter eggs hidden throughout. Crashtos banter galore. A favourite of mine, without a doubt.

antagonism in a non-professional capacity by cowardnthief (32k, complete) 

The girls are bad and communication but they are so so good and antagonism. Trinity kisses Victoria in the bar bathroom on Victoria's 21st birthday, and then proceeds to be obnoxiously normal about it. It drives Victoria crazy. This fix nails the dialogue and texting, and antagonism as flirting. One of the first Crashtos fics to make it on my favorites list.

head above water by overnights (18k, E, complete)

Speaking of early favourite Crashtos fics, I think this is the second one I ever read? Hilarious, hot, and shockingly cozy. Victoria has just moved into a new place of her own, and is having the deeply relatable experience of questioning your life choices thanks to IKEA furniture. Running out of ideas, and accepting that she is likely going to get shit about this for the next millenium, she texts Trinity. Turns out making a new place feel like home is easier with the help of. . . friends?

methods of resuscitation by cowardnthief (15k, complete)

Hot, hot, very hot. Also hilarious in a dry, understated way that fits Trinity and Javadi so well. Trinity is Eileen Shamsi's surgical protege, and Victoria hates her for it. Bratty, sassy Victoria and cocky, flirty Santos. Delightful concept, flawless execution.

i only threw this party for you by flowrday (9k, M, complete)

Trinity may have a bit of a crush on Victoria, but unfortunately for Trinity her expressions of affection via nicknames and 'gentle' bullying don't seem to be coming across the right way. Whitaker, being a good friend and occational Trinity-translator, suggests an alternative tactic, which leads to Trinity planning a birthday party for Victoria.

you and me on the coin by exactlyemma (30k, T, complete)

Social media AU where doctor & influencer Victoria Javadi gets asked to do an interview with her celebrity crush, actress Trinity Santos who plays a doctor on TV. And promplty falls on her ass. A criminally underrated fic, in my opinion. Witty, sassy, cute, clever, this fic is just beyond delightful, honestly.

Mentos: 

In the Quiet After by c8_3mo (14k, T, complete)

Trinity and Mel end up retreating to the same quiet spot for reprieve from the choas of the hospital. Through a combination of shared space, silence, and occasional conversation Trinity and Mel forge a new relationship. Fantastically written, feels almost like a series of vingettes at times giving us glimpses into the characters lives.

Short, sweet, tender little fic. A patient makes an awful comment about Trinity, and Mel needs Trinity to know it isn't true.

lip gloss lover by anacoluthons (10k, E, complete)

Interestingly, despite mostly reading Barantos/Crashtos/McVadi now, Mentos was the first paring I read Pitt fic for. This is one of the earliest fics I read, and it stuck with me for the funny, cozy, tender vibes (despite it also being explicit.) Trinity finds out Mel has never been to a sleepover before, and plans a classic slumber party style sleepover to fix that. (Bonus Whitsantos being adorkable roommates, although Whitaker gets sexiled pretty quickly.)

Bluntos fic!!! The ER has a running bet on who Trinity is dating. A 5 + 1 fic. Honestly just a well written, fun, goofy fic. Let these women have fun.
