thinking about the logistics of a "childlike" state for a construct because they obviously arent human theyre like from an entirely different dimension right
so the equivalent to babytalk for a construct would be simple noises of any kind (how i see it is that a construct begins with no concept of language but can make a wide variety of sounds depending on multiple interpersonal factors) and then sort of absorb lingual knowledge as it lives and learns and shit. for harken this could manifest as humming, low-pitch ringing, and one-note vocalizations (like an angels choir! but simpler)
how they form in the first place is a whole ass other matter that i dont need to think too hard about for the kind of post that this is. theyd form at a set size probably but some might be able to build on their own mass ... i think harken is one of those that was "born" smaller and made herself a lot larger due to the fear of being annihilated by a massive and more powerful construct.
..... but now that she doesnt have to worry about that ever again she really would rather be small once more. especially when everything about her environment is built for beings only half as tall... if only one could simply unbuild themself!
constructs obviously wouldnt really have a traditional childhood in any sense of the world (get "born" and dont die i guess) but thats an easy fix isnt it? mega helps her with that! okay i got distracted and accidentally left this post sitting around for like an hour so im just posting iit now thanks reading
eeh okay heres the semiformal non agere related post clarifying that i am no longer a member of the dandys world community. i went ahead and unfollowed a few people, and i encourage you not to follow if you are an avid fan, but i make an exception for those who i am still following.
hyperfixation turned special interest, i was hard into dandys world for a long time, but the game being ultimately dogshit on every front (mentally damaging gameplay and outright ableism most importantly) took a lot out of me the longer i spent playing it. i can make a separate post going into rather extensive detail on my opinions of the ableist side of things if anyone wants that, i just dont think its appropriate for this specific post.
i no longer accept dw related requests, assuming you havent seen the most recent ask i answered just a bit ago. of course, anyone is still welcome to request anything else thats within my ability!

ooh. this ones been cooking for a minute... in my absence i started selfshipping with harken ! i evem made a civilian oc exclusively for my chud selfship so heres flip4flip headcanons of them imblowing up in three seconds

π§ .. carries her around literally constantly. they cant stand being apart from her and the idea of them getting caught in a bad situation makes her anxious
π° .. they're usually pretty loud and offputting (even to the other civilians), though that's flipped on their head when they're little, which harken is more than grateful for. she's usually happy as long as she has something to keep her mouth busy.
π .. she took a liking to nature after getting over the massive hurdle of realizing there's no way back home. she likes taking her on nature walks in far-out areas where she's sure there'll be no strangers to interfere with her and her little.
π§ .. she is very hesitant to allow any other killers near mega. artful played a prank on them once that made them cry and pursuer pretended to try and eat them.
π° .. tries to get harken to draw with her, even though she isn't particularly dexterous with her large, blocky hands. they especially like dumping the crayons everywhere so they can make a game out of cleaning them all up.
π .. had to learn how to make things like snacks and bottles with begrudged assistance from artful, an ex-caregiver (i think they would have a frenemy dynamic). mega also helps her out with this, whenever she has the ability to.
π§ .. more of a big sibling type carer, in contrast to harken's gentle and motherly demeanor. despite their general love for chaos and disobedience, they try to keep things low-key for her, especially concerning noise levels.
+ you really wouldn't want to make too much noise around her. the resulting tantrum would be destructive, and even if she doesn't have the energy for that, she'll break down crying.
π° .. can't use a pacifier due to the lack of a mouth, but it doesn't stop mega from popping one in where it would be (it kinda just floats there when harken accepts it). she thinks it looks cute.
π .. big on floor time, especially due to her size; it helps her feel smaller. they like holding her head in their lap and dangling things above her.
π§ .. mega gifted her a teddy bloxpin when they got together and she got super attached to it. disappointed when her big sibby is gone, devastated and teary-eyed when the teddy is gone (she named it tulip).
+ sometimes she has trouble asking for something and has tulip speak for her. she also blames things she did on it on occasion. mega finds all of this absolutely adorable.
π° .. the both of them really enjoy pretend play and get way into it (when harken feels old enough to participate). she's even broken a few toys before, which resulted in plenty of tears and apologies, but they worked together to repair them.

an idea for long distance regressor friends. i feel like it's super important to keep physical media and snail mail alive! (especially with the efforts in the U.S. to privatize the USPS)
if you have a regressor friend who you trust, have known for a long-time, etc. you can send them mail! you can also do a P.O. box. NEVER just give out your address to strangers from the internet. send stickers, letters, postcards, coloring pages.
activity / exchange ideas:
sticker trading, bookmark trading, postcard trading, art / doodle trading
completing coloring pages (you color half, they color half)
other kinds of art collabs (you sketch, they color and stuff)
polaroids or just printed photos in general can be shared
send each other stuff for collages and junk journaling like magazine clippings
language writing learning, if your penpal knows a language you're trying to learn then they can help correct errors in your writing! and vice versa
you can also upcycle materials for this. cardboard, post-its, notebook paper, recycled paper, and more!
