Text & Discussion Spoliers for Prognosis: Doom!
You've been Warned!!
I missed the Deciet Trio so freaking much and this update fed me and I need more. From the teacher & student dynamics, Candy's insistence to push through even though shes obviously struggling, Shadow Milk referring to them as kids, Sapphire's genuine concern for his Master, and not to mention Ash Salt being beyond done with their chatting but confused as to why the duo are pushing themselves so far when Shadow Milk is more like a prison warden to her and not some... weird father/Boss figure. Like ugh, I missed this so much 😭
While we saw their dynamics during the Spire arc and subsequent episodes involving the trio, I still find it funny/sweet/interesting how Shadow Milk treats Sapphire not only like his pupil, but the second in command of all his plans. While Candy is like the bright eyed kid who's willing to learn and do anything following them around. Don't get me wrong, we all know how Sapphire defentily got the brains and "street smarts" amongst him and Candy, but its just another layer that shows the Fount of Knowledge who at some point actually did enjoy awnsering and teaching cookies still is in Shadow Milk, just buried beneath lies and purposeful ignorance of what he's actively doing. It also enforces how much Trust he actually has in them, not only to follow along but to Trust Him in return.
Of course when Candy has a question he was plenty eager to catch her up to speed but its so sweet how they just kinda let Candy be a "kid".
Another note, while Candy is too busy being Candy atm, Sapphire's growing concern over Shadow Milk's well being is so sweet. He clearly doesn't think this whole Ultimate Dough being inside of Shmilk is a good thing, but he's not willing to really push because, well, Shadow Milk has always "handle" everything else so, even if he hasn't quite been sounding or acting like...himself all the time, he'll be fine by the end of the day right?
Right?
I think there's a good possibility we might see some Sapphire (probably Candy too) jumping over to the heroes side at some point. The realization that this isn't Shadow Milk anymore, but the Ultimate Dough controlling him and they need help getting their Master back so they can go back to being the Deceitful Trio and yk not trying to recreate the multiverse (which I mean, I'm sure is fun if your boss isn't going literally more insane than he already is). Very much a "Hey, you don't want your homes destroyed and we want Shadow Milk back to normal so how about a truce".
Oh...
yeah, i'll never make him happy. EVER and no, i'm not the light of knowledge ok? i'm totally not hijacking this or whatever. yep uh-huh
So I'm just gonna say that this story might take a predictable route, that the cookies Sage is mentioned might end up being Gingerbrave, that light of Solidarity thing, and not-so-surprising or entertaining Pure Vanilla Cookie.
I wouldn't be surprised if they used the souljam resonance for Pure Vanilla (which would be the only he would reach Shadow Milk), the connection Gingerbrave got from Ultimate Cookie, and the light thing cookie being a personification of the souljams would probably pulled a Sailor Moon like thing and have the souljams respond to it.
Geez, I hope I am wrong cuz that would at least mean the plot ain't predictable before we even reach the end.
Again WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU LEAVE YOUR DARK SIDE WITH THE COOKIES SUFFERING FROM YOUR "VIRTUES" PLACED UPON THEM?

Took me WAYYY too long to realize that Shadow Milk is using white magic to beckon upon the angels. And that's why he's partially using white magic
It does make sense; he knows how to utilize it since he was the one to teach it to Cookiekind. His vast knowledge of magic is truly fascinating to me. It makes me wonder if Shadow Milk Cookie was left to his devices to experiment, take notes, and perform the magics how much more flexible he would be with magic. He could possibly create new magic or understand magic to manipulate it. White Magic, Dark Moon Magic, Nature Magic, Dessert Magic, and so much more are utilized. He has to have the ability to use all of it if he was going to teach cookies as the Fount of Knowledge, a being of knowledge and magic.
Perhaps experimenting would allow him to time travel freely like Timekeeper Cookie since Sage of Truth was capable of glimpsing other timelines through his other realm. His magic seems to be space-related. And him being a powerful cookie made directly by a Witch could make the trek easier.
The possibilities of Shadow Milk Cookie are endless when it comes to magic.
I understand what Sage of Truth was getting at about him discovering new ways and would take the opportunity.
Shame the Ultimate Cookie and the souls of Burning Spice, Mystic Flour, and Eternal Sugar made him go mad. So much potential being wasted. Sage of Truth even said SMC wouldn't have been as rash if the Ultimate Cookie hadn't influenced, so SMC could have created the perfect world he wanted for himself and the Beasts if that dough hadn't messed it up.
I deeply hope Sage of Truth steps in for Shadow Milk Cookie. It makes so much sense.
Ya know how everyone is saying Shadow Milk Cookie/Sage of Truth/ Fount of Knowledge is "genderfluid"?
The sad thing I realize is that Shadow Milk is not genderfluid, just because he can shapeshift his form. That's just a surface reason.
They are called that because no one gave a damn about their identity at all. He's not called "it" because of pronouns but because he was an object, a tool, someTHING to answer cookiekind's questions.
Even Sage of Truth, the "good" path, mentions that even he still isn't acknowledged as a cookie to cookiekind. Just a means to get knowledge and have their questions answered.
So why bother remembering a name or pronoun if nobody really cares?
No one cares about his identity; that's why it was so easy to change his form, and no one really noticed it was him.
It was simple to "play a role" that everyone wanted. They wanted a godly being to grant all knowledge? Fount of Knowledge.
They wanted the truth even when it can be cruel? Sage of Truth. They wanted to hear sweet lies cuz the truth hurts or is inconvenient? Shadow Milk Cookie.
See, what he says here? It's easy to become something, deceiving the naked eye, and seeing what's true?
So we can say Shadow Milk Cookie is genderfluid, but it has a really sad meaning behind it.
Spoilers for Cookie Run Kingdom and Cookie Run Witches’ Castle ahead but I wanted to share my thoughts on the Sage of Truth:
I won’t lie I still see “Sage of Truth” as a bit of a bad ending for Shadow Milk Cookie/The Fount of Knowledge because he’s still rejecting half of the Light of Knowledge at the end of the day. It’s just that instead of rejecting Truth, he’s rejecting Deceit and not realizing the biggest part of the Soul Jams that they themselves apparently don’t get: there isn’t a “Good” or “Bad” side of their aspects per-say, just that they can turn “bad” or “chaotic” if pushed to a particular extreme.
Heck we could even see that with the Light of Change itself with its two holders, Burning Spice Cookie and Golden Cheese Cookie. Burning Spice gave into grief of losing everything he has cared for and as a result, opted to destroy everything so that he wouldn’t form any attachments to others. Golden Cheese, after going through the exact same thing though, went on the complete other side of the scale and decided to dig her heels in, rejecting even the concept of death and hoarding all that was “Hers” and, had things done differently she could have been the Beast of Greed or something else with an overly large amount of Abundance.
We could see the same thing with Hollyberry Cookie and Dark Cacao, with Hollyberry drowning herself with juice and adventures and neglecting her responsibilities (which she still would have been doing if Pure Vanilla hadn’t sent her a letter), and Dark Cacao cookie being so staunch in his resolution that he was beginning to get tunnel vision against the Licorice Sea and neglecting the welfare of his other cookies at the beginning.
Going back to the Sage of Truth I could honestly see a similar thing happening. He understands why every other version of himself turned to deceit and even explaining the logic of him discarding what gives him pain (in most cases the cookies). But… he did the same thing in that Timeline as well, and there’s a bit of a tipping point between what is truth for being honest, and what is truth for cruelty’s sake, and Sage of Truth is ok that razor’s edge, looking at some of his quotes in game, his lines, while being truthful, still can carry a hostile edge at times:
“Why does everyone try so hard to hide their ignorance? Tsk.”
“Do I really need to spell out everything? Come on, think!”
“Ugh, come on! Why do you refuse enlightenment?!”
“Admitting your ignorance is the first step towards the Truth!”
All this to say the Sage of Truth still has just as much of a chance corrupting as the rest of the Founts, just that his corruption would look vastly different from the other versions of the Founts. Heck, it wouldn’t surprise me if the reason he was so nice to Timekeeper Cookie was because he saw them as an equal or of higher status/intelligence to himself based off of the nature of their time traveling abilities.
In summary, when the 5 lights of the original virtues asked Elder Faerie Cookie to “separate the good from the bad” they didn’t actually have any idea what they were talking about. Which makes sense, because in Witches’ Castle when we meet First Salt and First Sprinkle Cookie and they remember the soul jams they made (Solidarity and Happiness Respectively) they explicitly say that they screwed up.
Do you feel like the Ancients are slowly becoming the punching bag of CRK??
Not necessarily. I think it's the beasts that are becoming one. They get sidelined by that blue thing and DIED. I think that's bad enough already. But worse, they aren't developed enough. Especially Mystic Flour and Burning Spice, it's just sad that Devsisters don't care about them.

unironically I think the best way with dealing with the bug beasts plus shadow milk is to somehow convince the og virtues to join the fray cause those bugs still have the whole stone in them. but good luck convincing them, except salt, in joining the fray cause yeah they might get annoyed in turning into bugs, but the moment they find out they have a similar 1 in something chance of not corrupting like fok… yeesh.
It's an interesting concept but since kinda rushed the ending of Beast Yeast with tropes and all that, I don't expect such a cool plot twist.
Plus, if the og virtues step in, it would mess up all of the timelines since they are the source. Hence why I said Sage of Truth, he's from another branch that developed. The OG virtues, or Divine Emissaries, are the trunk and roots, which is probably why Shadow Milk didn't go that far back in time. Even though he is under the influence of the piece of the Ultimate Cookie, he knew not to go touch that.
Gotta get this off my chest for Cookie Run Kingdom.
So I'm gonna get this off my chest.
The Ancients aren't stronger than the Beasts, not by a long shot. We can’t deny it and no amount of bias can change it because even Devsis showed throughout Beast Yeast and even in Act 2.
Each episode of Beast Yeast from the first to the last of Episode 15 showed that the Ancients, even after awakening still pale in comparison to the power of the Beast Cookies. Literally the first half of each Beast’s episode is the Ancients getting mollywhopped by said Beasts. Who I must remind y’all are weakened and are in false bodies.
Literally Burning Spice ripped Golden Cheese’s wings and threw her into a gosh darn cell.
Even in the last three episodes of Beast Yeast (13,14, and 15), the Ancients were at an disadvantage with each encounter with the Beasts. Pure Vanilla was about to get another despresso cup with decaf (mind you even the other Ancients went down when Shadow Milk pulled up with his Kaledoscope of the Void), Dark Cacao was trapped and about to get Thanos slapped, Hollyberry Cookie was about enter the sequel of Doki Doki Literature Club- HELL, Burning Spice Cookie was dominating the battlefield when they reached him and Golden Cheese had an army AND Hollyberry Cookie with her.
In Act 2, Future Timekeeper had to come tell her other self that nobody was beated Corrupted Shadow Milk in every timeline he destroyed that wasn’t “perfect”. She had to go find Sage of Truth to understand how Shadow Milk Cookie works cuz she wasn’t gonna get that cheat sheet from the Ancients (sorry Pure Vanilla fans but he really needs a cheat book everytime).
The Ancients only had one saving grace. The element of surprise, them getting caught off guard. “Cheap tricks” and probably (pfft probably) plot armor.
Shadow Milk was busting their doughs as a SPIRIT when they were in the Faerie Kingdom and if he didn’t play with his prey they would have been crumbs. White Lily caught him off guard when she resealed the tree instead the two choices (what good that girl? “You” aka Dark Enchantress still busted them out in the end).
Mystic Flour was caught by surprise when Dark Cacao awakened with the dragons and called out her view of the world. Mystic Flour saw him being a stubborn rebellious pupil.
Burning Spice was caught off guard with Golden Cheese’s awakening but let’s be honestly brother did not care about her fancy upgrade. He wanted a challenge and she caved his temple on him which he laughed about.
Pure Vanilla had to tap into deceit himself and lie to Shadow Milk to get his souljam back. Brother literally took a peek of Shadow Milk’s therapy files and said it out loud. He caught Shadow Milk by surprise. Plus dude really hit Shadow Milk with a whole damn ship and still said he wants to understand him. Yeah, no, spend the beginning of your existence being worth how much you provide cookiekind for eons first with no sense of self and freedom of choice THEN maybe you can talk.
Eternal Sugar was caught off because she thought Hollyberry would submit to sloth and run from everything after biting the fruit from her tree that made witness and feel pain from other cookies. Instead Hollyberry awakened and still wanted to leave. Honestly, I would book Eternal Sugar a ticket to the nearest psych ward but that’s probably Hollyberry’s saving grace at the same time. ANYWAYS-
I’m not gonna go deep into White Lily and Silent Salt cuz everyone and their mama knew Silent Salt could have easily dusted White Lily if he didn’t put her trial. She caught him off guard too but honestly ain’t that deep. A lot of people were theorizing either he was gonna put her on a t-shirt or he wasn’t fully corrupted like the other Beasts were. Still think he should have smack her at least once with his sword.
Now let’s go back to episodes 13, 14, and 15. Now I know y’all saw put cheap tricks in quotations. That’s because the Ancients didn’t really have a hand in the cheap tricks but it was still coming from their side of battlefield. Like I said, the Ancients and co were getting their doughs handed back to them on a silver platter. The ONLY, and I mean only, reason they made to Dark Entrantress’s castle was due to the Guardians of Nature joining the fray.
When the Beast Cookies’ guards were focused on the Ancients. Which the Guardians probably shouldn’t have joined because their powers were one of the MAIN (weakened btw) foundation for the cookie world. Weakened because other foundation being the Souljams but then it was someone’s (*cough* screw those rocks *coughs*) bright idea to split the souljams and weaken said foundation already.
Ya know, the irony that ambushing was from the heroes side when the Beasts were fighting head on with their own powers instead of trickery.
Pure Vanilla was gonna lose if Wind Archer Cookie didn’t step in and brought out the lawnblower. Literally had to put distance so Pure Vanilla can escape.
Dark Cacao was gonna lose if Stormbringer Cookie didn’t serve the electric chair to Mystic Flour Thor style. Really shocked her from that ambush.
Burning Spice was BUSTING their doughs on that battlefield! They were not getting past him at all. Golden Cheese was getting humbled and Hollyberry was being put in a crater from him bashing her shield with just sheer strength. Moonlight Cookie literally had to snipe Burning Spice with gas bomb of Bernadryl mixed Vics Nyquil just so they book it out of there, not win, and even that didn’t hold him for long.
Fire Spirit Cookie roasted Eternal Sugar like a sugared smore so Hollyberry and co could escape from being swallowed by literal giant mouths.
Hell, they couldn’t even get to the darn island without Millennial Tree Cookie breaking the dang barrier surrounding Dark Enchantress Cookie’s stronghold. With Sea Fairy Cookie speeding up their travel with a watery speed boost.
They weren’t winning with Silent Salt Cookie. The dude with the most experience of combat under his belt ain’t losing to the Ancients, with his loyal, disciplined knights too. That’s like ChiChi from Dragon Ball beating Storm from Marvel.
The Beasts were certainly caught off guard when Silent Salt was revealed to have betrayed them and was the real culprit behind their sealing in the Sacred Seal Tree. I guess that was also their saving grace cuz they weren’t getting past Silent Salt at all if he was actually on the Beasts’ side.
So yes, the Ancients are powerful, make no mistake, especially together, but even Devsis showed the power scale difference in the end.
Best bet of them winning Act 2 is Sage of Truth joining the fray literally cuz I am not seeing Pure Vanilla getting to Shadow Milk without plot armor or following cliches. Thank you for reading my ramble.
Fount card fount card!
I will NOT allow these FRAUDULENT ASS SOULJAMS slander the virtues names and say they "failed" when every last one of them did everything they could to the bitter end to uphold the virtue they served.
Mind you, the one who "failed" the LoK was the same cookie that created the academy to teach cookies knowledge and magic and was so successful in doing so the academy existed EONS after his sealing until the incident. Mind you, there is nothing saying the Light of Knowledge did ANYTHING to aid or help in this matter WHATSOEVER, Fount was the one who answered and found the answers for cookies that required it of him.
(Sorry the rage is ever-consuming)
Excuse me Light of Knowledge, but you have to acknowledge that these are singular cookies, each taking on great burdens with no one to turn to or guide them. That would break anybody in the long run. Give them credit for lasting as long as they did. The Beasts should have not been reduced to their roles. They are not tools. They are living beings and this just shows how they were seen even by their own souljams. You better not jump ship LoK. The light of knowledge speaking makes me think of that souljams were "soulless" only when their concepts were split did they show personality. Still, Light of Knowledge had no right to
The Korean version sounds like AI with no humanity. If this is what Shadow Milk Cookie was listening too, no wonder he went mad first. LoK was filling him with insecurities by showing how redundant he role was and emphasizing how isolated SMC is. SMDH!! Do better LoK. Acknowledge you and the other virtues didn't guide THEM to evolve better. You failed just as much as they did.
Both of the souljams questioned his true intent, one of which did it to be manipulative, the other asking it as a genuine question
His relationship with the souljam has always been intriguing to me, especially his relationship with the light of deceit. Ultimately, all it's ever done for him is be a negative force that has supported his downward spiral into inevitable destruction. Nothing about the way the light of deceit behaves around Shadow Milk has shown it as a positive force. When the light of deceit asks "Is this truly what you want?" It targets the idea of his autonomy, rather than actually valuing what he may want and need. It mocks his desires and treats them as if they are trivial and foolish in nature, a truth he cannot afford to admit in the face of being hurt and left to rot like he was as the Fount of Knowledge.
(It's important to note that LoD asks him this after Shadow milk thinking about how he desired companionship, and after episode 8 where he showed that sliver of longing he was hiding for so long.)
But, when the light of truth asks this question of "Is this truly YOUR will?", It is specifically to target the non-progressive ideas that he constantly preaches out loud and instead brings to light the inner desires that he refuses to speak aloud, his truth. The light of truths question is ultimately to put him in a spot of self actualization, what was he really doing this for? Why does he continue on this poisonous path of decay and delusion?
While these questions may be good and for him to ask, they're scary. They leave too much room for too many possibilities. They aren't as indefinite as the scripts he's perfectly constructed, they don't give him the protection power that he believes burying himself in lies has given him.
@baboomski @peachyswirls
I'd like to also think the Light of Deceit was mocking Shadow Milk's journey. Calling out that SMC always plays the part that people want, even if he doesn't realize it. Taking this self-destructive path and saying who needs truth. But Deceit is like a mask that hides the Truth until it ready to be seen.
LoD was asking SMC if he was still protecting the truth he was hiding behind the lies. Basically, Deceit was asking Shadow Milk if he was ready to face the truth after it sensed a piece of his "truth" was exposed by the light of truth to Pure Vanilla.
The light of Truth was calling his "truth". Is this what you truly desire? Causing all this chaos, helping his friends descend more, playing the deceitful jester. It's asking if that's what he really wants. It's asking if Shadow Milk about his truth. That droplet of loneliness that was it hinting to Pure Vanilla that Shadow Milk is "going off-script" to what he might truly want. Further hiding from his "truth". We see hints of it. Him "teaching" others, calling the Beasts "friends" despite their lack of companionship till the very end (and the scene from Act 2), becoming angry at any lack of control, etc. That's why he rejects Truth so hard. He's not ready to face it but he's destroying his sense of self running from it.
I like this concept because it seems to me that, even though it's split apart, the light of knowledge is still communicating to SMC. We don't see that with the other souljams trying to reach the original bearer. We haven't seen the other Beast Cookies communicate with their lights, so we can at least say that Shadow Milk's souljam was more communicative than the others. Both voices of Deceit and Truth were possibly trying to indirectly sway Shadow Milk from falling further. Each in their own way trying to reveal Shadow Milk broken sense of self. Pieces of the Light of Knowledge trying to reach its original owner to guide him away from this, but the souljam of Knowledge is fractured inside Shadow Milk so its voice is not loud, even when spoken through its two halves.
Poor cookie.

A guide on my process for colouring like in the Arcana which I developed through studying the style.
Now, this is just for sprites or for neutral lighting. In the case of most memories/CGs, you have more interesting colours to use, but the process is identical. There are just extra steps.
Using my favourite memories for each character as examples (hopefully, you can tell which ones) you can see this process. All of this happens on layers above the base drawing.
Usually, you set a colour-filled layer to the setting “multiply” over the entire drawing, then using a “screen”, “add”, or “hard light” layer, you add the lighting. Depending on the intensity of the lighting, the outline will be coloured to be lighter.
The shading colour rarely changes, aside from slight hue changes.
Misc advice/tips/tricks below. I may update it depending on if I get further questions.
