I feel a little giddy, so I may end up making some doodles of my Blueberry Cobbler / Pirate Smilk AU (or in general just Pirate Smilk stufffff ). Feel free to ask about my AU.
Say no more! I actually get excited when people ask me about ShadowPirate stuff (though I still wish I wasn't the only person making all the content, heh)!!! :DDD That said, here I go!
One of the ShadowPirate songs I feel would fit the dynamic.
In short, ShadowPirate happens to be a rarepair I created back in 2024, mainly because I wanted to ship something new with Pirate Cookie. When Shadow Milk Cookie debuted as an NPC, I made jokes about it at first... But then it stopped being a joke.
I feel as a whole the two would have a good dynamic and some good interactions. They also acts as foils to each other. Who doesn't love clowns and pirates being besties with each other? Who doesn't love tragic doomed yaoi involving terrible men who did terrible things? It's often why you see me insert a small drop of it in my AUs!
I talked about it on my reblog account, but I can also talk about it here as well!
In the lore for Shadow Milk Cookie, his path to corruption was defined by wanting to be useful, only to be mistreated by his subjects. As the Fount of Knowledge, he only spiraled to Deceit because of exploitation, and that little voice enabled him to spread lies as means to cause chaos. Besides, it didn't matter the truth if Cookies always resorted to extreme acts of chaos. Without the Witches to guide them, or the action to handle the overwhelming power, or a way to seek a way out in the midst of everything, he would reach his downfall... And look what it led to now.
While not much is known about Pirate Cookie, his path to corruption was defined by legacy and desire. From what is implied, he probably grew sick and tired of living the old life in the navy, and wanted to go for more, slowly desperate to prove his worth. He went so far as to flee, begging to a supposed God for immorality: He cannot die until all the treasures were in his grasp. In the pirate life, he only saw himself as the main character, and every single Cookie was out to get him. He is implied to be mentally unwell, so he is slowly losing himself to his own needs to be something.
Both are arrogant, selfish, manipulative, and have very little regard for others. They both wield dark magic and can even disguise themself into anything (especially now with the new update where Pirate Cookie is implied to take on the form of a teddy bear, possessed or actually morphed into it). They have minions on their side, and will stop at nothing to get what they want, even if it means CHEATING their own game to make the player lose (as stated, especially with the new update).
However, they are foils to each other. Pirate Cookie will ONLY spare someone if they understood his dilemma (though it's stated he was partially merciful, as he won't be such again) and not try to be his friend, as to where Shadow Milk Cookie will spare no one, going into a hostile rage if they DARE try to proclaim that they understand him (such as the instance with Pure Vanilla Cookie). Pirate Cookie will make himself an ally to someone if the bribe contains treasures, and Shadow Milk Cookie will show little to no interest, only becoming an ally if it's something that he realizes is beneficial to his need to destroy Cookiekind.
With all that said, I definitely imagine that Pirate Cookie would have a "deal with the devil" kind of dynamic with the two. Pirate Cookie would willingly give himself up to who is a literal god, if it means doing his bidding for treasure as a reward. Shadow Milk Cookie would find him to be useful, an actual friend who doesn't go off about how they understand him. They don't care about anything else, they just want to set the world on fire. As long as they both keep their word, they both get what they want. If the world is against them, then they don't need anyone else but each other. Sure, they'll cheat on each other, but Pirate Cookie can outlie the liar. He's as deceitful as the blue clown.
Pirate Cookie will always be there for him, I imagine. Even if Shadow Milk Cookie becomes a god beyond any resemblance of a Cookie, he stays loyal to him until the end. A pirate will keep his oath.
Shadow Milk Cookie hates traitors, hates people who try to be buddies with him. At the very least he can be pals with Pirate Cookie, even when he loses himself. It's nice to have someone who is truthful to him, doesn't take advantage of him, and actually listens to him for once in the clown's sad theatre of a life.
If there is a chance that Smilk survived (though we've seen how it ends for villains such as Dark Enchantress Cookie and Longan Dragon Cookie, so I'm not hoping he survives), and he still rejects Pure Vanilla Cookie, why hang out in the light when he can be in the light's shade with someone who also hasn't been able to redeem himself? The only redemption is keeping away from those he hurt the most, and be with those who endured crapsack lives. One event or two, and the two would accept each other as friends. If one loses everything, they have that special other to keep them going.
Terrible people who did terrible things. Maybe they deserve each other.

It's actually surprising that the teddy from long ago is mentioned!!! It shows up for a few seconds but I need to mention the details!
I have two theories, and it's mostly from what I can think of:
This is Pirate Cookie's decoy form. So in simple layman terms, something that Shadow Milk Cookie does. Given that the teddy is moving like what most NPC sprites do, this does hint of him being able to disguise himself through his dark magic or using his ghost form to possess other things to make it do his own bidding.
The teddy is sentient. It could contain Pirate Cookie's soul, or it is another ghost pirate entirely. The possibilities are endless.
The fact that we are seeing the teddy moving in what is essentially a shell game, it gives off the idea that it is alive, but we still need more info on what or why. It's really good to see the teddy be mentioned since it was only implied in the old calendar from a decade ago!

Dice, possibly liar's dice!!!! I feel he might be Kingdom's Davy Jones if he becomes playable!
If it's indicated to be liar's dice, we might have some hints surrounding his ordeal with his own dealmaker. Whether it be Shadow Milk Cookie or another being, we'll have to see since there is so little to see in the trailer footage. That's IF he ends up becoming playable later in the update or in a future update.
Really hoping it's not them giving implications and leaving it at that. :C /gen
